Oxydata Software is a leading provider of innovative data platform solutions. We are currently seeking an experienced Data Platform Manager to join our team.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the technical aspects of our data platform and working closely with application, architecture, and delivery teams to ensure the needs of our business problems are clearly understood and effectively addressed.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Participate in the platform services squads for Infrastructure & Database Administrators.
  • Innovate, modernize, and proactively monitor IT Core infrastructure performance, maintenance, support, and infrastructure capacity planning.
  • Take end-to-end ownership in the management of multiple big data and database platform technologies, orchestrations tooling, and runtimes.
  • Train, guide, and grow other team members on a continuous basis to have a sustainable resource plan.
  • Lead data-driven decision-making processes, define KPIs and metrics to measure Big Data Storage Platform performance, team performance, and evolve metrics on an ongoing basis.
  • Work on roadmaps and strategies for data platforms with a focus on regional and non-regional platforms, technological focus on Teradata (with Vantage), Oracle, Big Data Platforms (Open Source, Commodity, and BDA), and object storage.
  • Ensure platform security with data at rest and in transit, maintain UAM, and appropriate controls on PII.
  • Ensure the execution of technology/product roadmaps with top-quality and clear SLAs.
  • Ensure that IT Core Infrastructure services are aligned with evolving needs and capabilities, capacity, and are future-fit (Cloud/on-premises technologies best suited for the bank).
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders on platform strategy with the banks' internal technology teams and manage vendors for platform upgrades and maintenance.
  • Ensure effective platform maintenance, including performance tuning and storage optimization opportunities.
  • Ensure effective software configuration management practices so that the roadmap for DevOps can be adopted.
  • Inventory management for all environments across all platforms to ensure the effective utilization of the platform and its resources.
Requirements and Skills:
  • Knowledge of IT Service Management frameworks and the management of IT services.
  • Knowledge/understanding of good information security practice from a technical and management perspective.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of ITIL.
  • At least 10 years of experience as a manager of infrastructure operation teams.
  • At least 8 years of experience in infrastructure operations in Teradata, Hadoop, and other Big Data technologies, Data Centre Management, Cloud Technologies and Management, PySpark/Spark, Kubernetes, and S3.
  • A proven track record of driving and delivering consistent and constant service improvements.
  • Vendor and supplier management.
  • Evidence of ability to build relationships at all levels within the organization.
  • Evidence of adaptability/flexibility to changing demands.
  • Evidence of ability to influence.
  • An understanding of an outsourced delivery environment/model.
  • An understanding of internal/external customer business needs.

We offer a competitive salary of $120,000 - $180,000 per year, depending on experience, and a benefits package that includes health insurance, retirement savings, and paid time off.
