Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Data Engineer to join our dynamic team at WikiCréa. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data engineering, with experience in designing and implementing data pipelines, ETL processes, and data warehousing solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Data Architecture Design: Design, develop, and maintain scalable and efficient data architecture, including data models, data warehouses, and data lakes using AWS services (e.g., AWS Lambda, AWS Glue, Amazon Kinesis).
  • Data Ingestion and Processing: Implement ETL processes to ingest, transform, and load large volumes of data from various sources such as databases and APIs into a unified format for analysis.
  • Data Storage and Management: Develop and optimize data storage solutions using AWS data warehousing technologies (e.g., Amazon Redshift, Amazon S3).
  • Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with stakeholders and product owners to understand data requirements and deliver solutions that meet their needs, communicating technical concepts effectively to non-technical audiences.
  • Data Governance and Compliance: Establish and enforce data governance policies and procedures to ensure data integrity, privacy, and compliance with regulations and internal policies, including managing access controls, encryption, and auditing of data.
  • Technical Expertise: Evaluate and select appropriate tools and technologies for data storage, processing, and visualization.
  • Documentation and Knowledge Sharing: Document data pipelines, processes, and best practices to facilitate knowledge sharing and ensure the maintainability of data solutions, promoting a culture of documentation and knowledge sharing within the team.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Mining, Machine Learning, Data Science or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Data Engineer, ideally within a marketplace or e-commerce environment.
  • Strong expertise with AWS services, especially in serverless architecture (e.g., AWS Lambda, AWS Glue, Amazon Kinesis, Amazon Redshift, Amazon S3, AWS Step Functions).
  • Proficiency in SQL with experience in data modeling and schema design.
  • Proficiency in big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, Hive, DBT, Apache Airflow, and Looker.
  • Advanced programming skills in Python.
  • Understanding of data governance, data cataloging, data quality, and data observability concepts (e.g., AWS Glue).
  • Familiarity with additional big data technologies (e.g., Apache Spark, Hadoop) is advantageous.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Curiosity and engagement with a passion for leveraging data to make a difference.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills with a diverse range of stakeholders.
