**Key Responsibilities**
- Creating a safe and healthy work environment by enforcing safety regulations and procedures, such as wearing protective equipment when necessary
- Developing, implementing, and monitoring environmental policies, procedures, and programs
- Conducting inspections of work sites for compliance with environmental regulations
- Determining the best ways to meet business goals while protecting the environment
- Monitoring employee performance to ensure that they are following all safety regulations and meeting performance standards
- Maintaining records of environmental data, such as water quality samples or air emissions testing results
- Coordinating with government agencies to develop or update environmental regulations and laws
- Preparing reports that detail findings and recommendations, which may then be reviewed by other members of the team
