English Lecturer

Key Responsibilities:

- **Teaching and Instruction**: Design and deliver engaging lectures, seminars, and tutorials on various topics in English language, literature, and composition.
- **Curriculum Development**: Contribute to the development and updating of the curriculum, incorporating relevant literature, language theories, and innovative teaching methods.
- **Student Assessment**: Prepare and grade exams, assignments, and essays; provide constructive feedback to enhance students’ understanding and performance.
- **Academic Advising**: Offer academic support to students, assisting them in developing effective study strategies and encouraging their academic progress.
- **Research and Scholarship**: Engage in research activities to contribute to the field of English language and literature and support the institution’s academic standing.
- **Professional Development**: Participate in workshops, seminars, and other professional development opportunities to stay updated on best practices in English education.
- **Departmental Contribution**: Actively participate in departmental meetings, curriculum planning, and activities that support the goals and mission of the institution.
- **Community Engagement**: Promote English studies through involvement in community outreach, departmental events, and student clubs or societies related to English language and literature.

Skills and Qualifications:

- **Education**: A Master’s degree in English, English Literature, Linguistics, or a related field (a Ph.D. or progress toward a Ph.D. is preferred).
- **Experience**: Previous teaching experience at the tertiary level is preferred, with a strong understanding of English language and literature.
- **Knowledge**: Expertise in literary analysis, writing, grammar, and language teaching methodologies.
- **Skills**: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong organizational skills, and the ability to engage and inspire students.

Pay: RM4,000.00 - RM4,500.00 per month
