**Job Description** Get to Know the Team**

The Legal team supports Grab Financial Group’s businesses across Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, and the Philippines by providing legal, regulatory, compliance, governance, and contractual advice. This position focuses on Digital Payments, Lending, and Insurtech, particularly on regulatory matters, contract review, and negotiation, and governance issues.

**Get to Know the Role**

This role will report to the Associate General Counsel, GrabFin.
You will be onsite at Grab office.

**The Critical Tasks You Will Perform**
- You will advise on payments and financial services regulatory licensing and compliance across different business units, emphasizing areas such as payments, insurance and lending regulations, credit card association rules, and related advertising, marketing, and consumer protection laws.
- You will review and manage contracts, ensuring they comply with applicable regulations and standards.
- You will assist in developing and maintaining compliance programs tailored to the business needs.
- You will draft and review relevant provisions of agreements with vendors, customers, partners, and consultants.
- You will collaborate with other business support teams like finance, tax, accounting, and human resources to address legal concerns.
- You will identify, analyze, and mitigate legal issues related to the introduction of new financial services products and services, supporting Grab’s regional expansion.
- You will research legal issues and draft memos as needed.
- You will provide timely, concise, and business-focused legal advice on financial services and payments laws and licensing requirements.
- You will represent Grab’s interests and interface directly with regulatory agencies and external counsel when appropriate.
- You will support Public Affairs in responding to relevant legislative and regulatory proposals.
- You will instruct and manage external advisors and counsels as needed.
- You will guide on the legal and regulatory aspects of product design and modifications, identify associated risks, and recommend mitigation strategies. Ensure legal compliance and adequate disclosures in product user experiences.
- You will work closely with regional and country legal teams on payments regulation and product design.
- You will develop and implement AMLA (Anti-Money Laundering Act) compliance requirements.
- You will support inter-department initiatives and help devise legally compliant financial services products.

**Qualifications** What Essential Skills You Will Need**
- ** Regulatory and Compliance Knowledge**: Experience in dealing with payments, insurance, lending regulations, and compliance with credit card association rules and consumer protection laws.
- ** Contract Review and Management**: Proven skill in handling contracts, reviewing, drafting, and negotiating agreements.
- ** Compliance Program Development**: Ability to develop, implement, and maintain compliance programs aligned with business needs.
- ** Collaboration**: Strong collaboration skills to work with various internal teams (finance, tax, accounting, and HR) to resolve legal concerns.
- ** Issue Identification and Resolution**: Ability to identify, analyze, and mitigate legal issues associated with new financial services products.
- ** Research and Memo Drafting**: Proficiency in researching legal issues and drafting detailed memos.
- ** Regulatory Interface**: Experience in managing relations with regulatory bodies and providing timely legal advice.
- ** Risk Mitigation**: Ability to identify legal risks in product design and modifications and propose effective mitigation strategies.
- ** AMLA Compliance**: Knowledge in developing and implementing AMLA-related compliance requirements.

**Minimum Qualifications**
- ** Admitted Solicitor**: Legal practice admission in Singapore or Malaysia.
- ** Corporate and Regulatory Experience**: Specialized experience in payments and financial services legal practice.
- ** Experience Level**: Overall, between 0-7 years of post-qualification experience (PQE).
