Firewall & Network Security Planner

**Your Responsibilities**:

- Able to communicate well and give effective presentations to stakeholders and management. Able to influence key decisions to generate the best outcome for the benefit of the company
- Take up a leadership role to lead projects, design reviews, meetings, and other related initiatives to champion and co-own KPIs with management to drive sectional or departmental agendas. Chair and own internal forums with the intention to increase the competency level of the detailed planning team, and provide channel for junior engineers to raise, discuss and resolve design challenges.
- Play a critical role in check and balancing the detailed planning design in accordance with best practice and design guidelines to achieve the desired network resiliency and reliability. This is done with the ultimate objective of ensuring the IP transport network quality, capacity availability and cost efficiency.
- Responsible to constantly engage the industry, vendors, and internal strategy and architecture team to explore the latest technology development and perform knowledge sharing with the team. Subsequently, you will be responsible in jointly driving the progression of the new technology exploration with the internal strategy and architecture team until proof of concept and high-level design, before handing over to the detailed planning team for low level design and implementation.
- Have a deep understanding on the business planning flow and financial management (CAPEX, OPEX, COGS) with the objective of creating, owning, and delivering initiatives to further drive cost reduction with measurable achievement in cost savings.
- Responsible to produce unit costing and 3 years CAPEX forecast based on forecast given by architecture team
- Play a tech lead role as required in sourcing activities and inter-section or inter-department analysis or study initiatives. Be the company’s representative for industry level initiatives and forums. Able to connect and establish relationship with counterparts in the industry and regulatory officials with the objective of cultivating collaborations and partnerships for the benefit of Digi.
- Constantly evaluating current way of work, practices, processes, and design guidelines to identify gaps and improvement measures that can be put in place. Own the improvement measures until completion.
- Able to provide guidance on the best solution especially for those area or network whereby fiber links is limited.
- Responsible for Enterprise Core, Distribution and Access Network; router, switches, and Firewall network planning.
- Develop interface/ execute operating model with MSP, vendors, sub-contractors and operations
- Responsible for the governance of the MSP partner low level design and deliverables for the respective individual domain
- Responsible for Central and Regional office enterprise network; switches and Wifi network planning.
- Responsible for IT Development transport required and security network planning.
- Responsible for Wifi planning to support Digi events.
- Detail planning for IP Metro Core Node which main function is for RAN network routing to Core.
- Responsible for 4G Femto cell switch and Firewall planning.

**Your critical interfaces**:
In this role, you will have the following critical interfaces:

- Within department: All sub-section in Core Network Planning, Data Center Infra & Security, Network Solution, Radio Access Planning, Access Transport Planning, Facility Planning and Network Delivery Management
- Manage Service Provider (Ericsson)
- In Technology: CTO, Development (ISIT), Operations, Portfolio Management Office and Field Force
- Marketing: Product & Segment
- Finance: RA and Procurement
- Vendors and Suppliers
- Telco industry for regulatory requirement and development

**Your Merits**:

- Degree or Professional qualification in Engineering; majoring in Communications, Telecommunications or Electronic or equivalent.
- At least 10 years of working experience in vendor or operator environment in the IP Transport networks domain.
- Excellent technical knowledge in routers, switches, and network systems. Previous experience in the design and planning scope for the Internet Exchange, IP Core, Fiber Optic, Copper Technology, ADS/VDSL, FTTx, DWDM, DXC and Metro Ethernet network is necessary. Knowledge of other transport domains is also equally important.
- Experience working with open-source software, such as Linux, KVM, OpenStack & Kubernetes
- Network engineer certifications such as CCNP Security (Cisco Certified Network Professional Security), CEH (Certified Ethical Hacker), CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional), and GIAC Security Certifications.
- Knowledge in Mobile Packet Core will be highly desirable as well.
