Cashier - Bakery Cafe

**Job Scope / Responsibilities**:
As a **Cashier** at our bakery, you will be the first point of contact for customers. Your role is essential to creating a welcoming atmosphere and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations at the front of the shop.

**Key Responsibilities**:
**Customer Service**
- Greet customers warmly and make them feel welcome
- Answer questions about our baked goods, ingredients, and promotions
- Provide recommendations when needed
- Handle customer complaints or issues professionally and promptly

**Cashiering Duties**
- Operate the cash register or POS system accurately
- Process cash, credit/debit card, and mobile payments
- Issue receipts and ensure correct change is given
- Balance the register at the beginning and end of shifts
- Handle refunds and returns (if applicable)

**Order Management**
- Take custom cake or special orders and enter them accurately into the system
- Notify kitchen staff of any special requests
- Confirm pickup times and order details with customers

**Product Handling**
- Package bread, pastries, and other items neatly and safely
- Label items with prices, ingredients, or allergy info if needed
- Restock display shelves with fresh baked goods
- Monitor inventory and notify the team when items run low

**Cleanliness & Organization**
- Keep the front counter and display area clean and organized
- Sanitize surfaces regularly, following food safety guidelines
- Maintain cleanliness in the dining/takeout area (if applicable)

**Team Support**
- Communicate with bakers and kitchen staff for smooth coordination
- Help with light prep or stocking when needed
- Assist during busy periods with packing or boxing orders

**Requirements**:

- Friendly, helpful attitude and a passion for customer service
- Basic math and POS/cash register skills
- Ability to stand for long periods
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Willingness to learn product details and follow hygiene rules
- Punctual and dependable
- Previous cashier, retail, or F&B experience is a plus

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent, Contract

Pay: RM1,700.00 - RM1,800.00 per month
