Position Overview:
As the Hands-On Full Set Account Manager specializing in the construction industry, you will lead financial operations with a proactive and hands-on approach. overseeing financial operations tailored specifically to the construction industry. This position requires a deep understanding of construction accounting principles, coupled with strong leadership and strategic planning skills. One of the key responsibilities involves liaising with external auditors and vendors to ensure compliance and smooth financial operations. As the leader of the finance team, you will collaborate closely with project managers and senior executives to optimize financial outcomes in construction projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures tailored to the construction industry's unique needs.
- Oversee financial aspects of construction projects, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
- Collaborate with project managers to develop project budgets and monitor financial performance.
- Analyze project costs, variances, and profitability to provide insights for decision-making.
- Manage cash flow for construction projects, forecasting cash requirements and implementing strategies to optimize cash management.
- Monitor project cash flow metrics and proactively address potential cash flow issues.
- Coordinate with project managers and subcontractors to ensure timely invoicing and payments.
- Oversee accounts receivable and accounts payable processes specific to construction projects.
- Monitor project billing, collections, and payment processes to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
- Manage subcontractor relationships and negotiate favorable payment terms.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors during financial audits of construction projects.
- Coordinate audit schedules, provide necessary documentation, and address audit inquiries in a timely and efficient manner.
- Collaborate with auditors to ensure compliance with audit requirements and resolve any audit findings.
- Manage relationships with vendors and subcontractors, negotiating contracts and payment terms to support project objectives.
- Coordinate vendor payments and resolve any discrepancies or issues in a timely manner.
- Ensure compliance with vendor contracts and agreements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA or relevant professional certification preferred.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in construction accounting, with expertise in financial management for construction projects.
- Strong understanding of construction accounting principles and regulations.
- Proficiency in construction accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
