Cabin Safety Executive

**Functional Responsibilities**
This position is responsible to the Cabin Safety Manager for providing support and the elevation of cabin operations safety standard. At the same time, oversight on Cabin Crew Department (CCD) for implementing, maintaining and continuously improving and effective Safety Management System (SMS) in accordance to the regulatory, company, ICAO, IOSA requirements and compliance to all applicable local and international regulations and standards.
The Cabin Safety Executive shall carry out any other departmental related duties as and when required by the Cabin Safety Manager.
**Role Responsibilities**:
a. Strengthen AirAsia brand image and customer advocacy.
b. Promote AirAsia’s culture within the organisation.
c. Ensure transparency and promote good governance.
d. Develop talents and strengthen staff’s capability; ensure all staff receive appropriate training.
**Functional Duties**:
1.0 Safety Policy and Objectives
1.1 Management Commitment
a. To ensure the compliance on regulations, standards, guidance, policy and inspection criteriaonissues relating to cabin safety, passenger safety related operational procedures, designof tool kits based on incident/ accident/ surveillance analysis.
b. Regularly review Safety Objectives and Targets with CCD for suitability and ensure it is communicated throughout the department.
1.2 Safety accountability and responsibilities
a. Conduct oversight on CCD operations in accordance with applicable regulations and safety standards of the organisation.
1.3 SMS documentation
a. Conduct oversight on CCD in documenting ALL safety related policies, planning processes, procedures, programs and records in relevant manuals and the central safety library(management system) as applicable, in accordance to the organisation documentation and records control requirements.
b. Ensure SEPM and Safety leaflet are updated and reviewed regularly by CCD.
2.0 Safety Risk Management
2.1 Hazard Identification a. Oversight on CCD in identifying, reporting, recording and investigating hazards fromall sources.
b. Identify root cause(s) and carry out safety investigation in accordance to its process and procedures.
2.2 Safety risk assessment and mitigation
a. Oversight on CCD in ALL risk assessments and formulating mitigation actions for hazards, risk and root causes identified.
b. Investigate cabin accidents and/or incidents from the hazard reporting system-involving company properties or personnel, as and when required, with the aim of prevention and/or avoiding recurrence.
3.0 Safety Assurance
3.1 Safety performance monitoring and measurement
3.1.1 Internal Audit
a. Perform periodic operational cabin safety audits to ensure safety standards are being maintained and continually exercised.
b. Perform internal audits on CCD to assess the effectiveness of the SMS and identify areas for potential improvement.
c. Develop and participate on regular oversight & inspection program to ensure compliance with Civil Aviation Regulations 2016 and other directives or notices consisting:
i. Aircraft equipment inspections.
ii. Pre-flight (ramp) inspections.
iii. In-flight cabin inspections.
iv. Training inspections.
v. Base inspections.
vi. Other Cabin Safety and compliance related audits.
d. Follow-up and ensure closing of all findings identified from internal audits.
e. Coordinate, conduct and follow up joint regulatory CAAM surveillance inspections periodically, as required.
3.1.2 Safety performance monitoring
a. Oversight CCD in developing Safety Performance Indicators and Targets.
b. Ensure necessary actions are taken by CCD to maintain the targets.
c. Oversight CCD in the development of future SEP policies and procedures, and provide recommendations for improvement affecting cabin safety.
d. Oversight CCD on corrective action on the SEP Line/Ground Check and Enroute CabinSafety Observation.
3.1.3 The Management of Change (MOC)
a. Assist and support CCD on management of change process.
3.1.4 Continuous improvement of the SMS
a. Oversight on the continuous improvement of Cabin Crew SMS.
b. Assist and support CCD to conduct relevant research and development on cabin safety matters with the aim to enhance flight safety as well as increasing the efficiency of cabin safety processes.
4.0 Safety Promotion
4.1 Training and Education
a. Oversight S MS training and education for all management and non-management personnel.
b. Conduct SMS training.
c. Participate in Cabin Safety related seminar/workshop/conference when applicable.
4.2 Safety Communication
a. Ensure cabin safety related matters are communicated and coordinated with the appropriate operational managers.
b. Disseminate the information to management and non-management operational personnel.
