As a **Mechanical Manager** in a shipyard, you will be responsible for overseeing mechanical operations related to machinery installation, maintenance, and repair. Your role is critical in ensuring the efficient functioning of shipyard equipment. Below are the key duties and qualifications specific to this context:
Duties & Responsibilities:

- **Machinery Installation and Maintenance**:

- Coordinate and supervise the installation of machinery and mechanical systems on ships.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations during installation and maintenance.
- Oversee repairs and troubleshooting of mechanical components, including engines, propulsion systems, and auxiliary equipment.
- **Project Management**:

- Plan and execute machinery installation projects within specified timelines.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to define project requirements and specifications.
- Monitor progress, allocate resources, and manage budgets.
- **Quality Assurance and Inspections**:

- Conduct quality checks on installed machinery to verify alignment, functionality, and adherence to standards.
- Perform regular inspections to identify wear, corrosion, or other issues.
- Implement corrective actions as needed.
- **Team Leadership and Training**:

- Lead a team of mechanical technicians and engineers.
- Provide guidance, mentorship, and training to ensure skill development.
- Foster a safety-conscious work environment.

Qualifications:

- **Education**: Bachelor’s or Associate Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering, or a related field.
- **Certifications**: Consider certifications relevant to marine engineering or project management.
- **Experience**:

- **Minimum 8-10 years** of experience in shipyard operations, with a focus on machinery installation.
- Familiarity with marine propulsion systems, hydraulics, and electrical systems.

Desired Skills:
**Shipyard Expertise**:

- Minimum of 15 years of experience in Machinery installation works. Extensive experience in machinery installation within the shipbuilding or maritime industry, with a focus on propulsion machinery, steering machinery, diesel generators, pumps, boilers, and winches. Previous experience in a supervisory or managerial role is highly desirable.
- Understanding of shipyard processes, dry docks, and marine equipment.

**Project Management**: Ability to manage complex projects from planning to execution.

**Safety Compliance**: Knowledge of safety protocols and regulations in a shipyard environment.

**Salary**: RM33,300.00 - RM58,800.00 per month
