Technical Specialist

What you'll bring to the team:
Join our elite LEGO Models Technical Team as a Technical Specialist in Electronics and embark on a journey to create enchanting experiences for our guests worldwide Your role is pivotal in crafting the magic behind our Merlin LEGO branded attractions. As our Technical Specialist, you'll be the go-to authority on all things electronic, shaping the heart of our LEGO technical marvels. From designing intricate PCBs to programming LED displays and servo controllers, you'll lead the charge in bringing imagination to life.

**Your main responsibilities include**:
**Electronic Circuit and System Design**: Collaborate with production teams to develop cutting-edge electronic components, ensuring they seamlessly integrate into our attractions. From schematics to testing, you'll be at the forefront of innovation.

**Testing and Commissioning**: Ensure the reliability and performance of our electronic designs through rigorous testing. Your keen eye for detail will guarantee flawless operation and user satisfaction.

**Technical Support**: As the resident expert, you'll provide invaluable support to our teams and clients, troubleshooting any electronic hiccups that arise and ensuring smooth operation.

**Development**: Document your creations meticulously and share your expertise through training sessions and workshops. Stay ahead of the curve by keeping up with industry trends and advancements, always seeking ways to enhance our processes.

Qualifications & Experience:

- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years hands-on experience in electronic design (analog & digital circuit design, signal processing, power & control electronics etc.)
- Proven experience in schematic & PCB layout, prototyping, testing and fault finding.
- Proficiency in prototype development, soldering and standard hardware tools (e.g. multimeters, oscilloscopes, logic analysers etc.)
- Proficiency in schematic capture and PCB layout design software (e.g. Cadence, KiCad, Altium, Eagle etc.)
- Proven experience in embedded systems, microcontrollers, sensors, servos, actuators, communication protocols (e.g UART, BT, SPI, I2C etc.) and their programming and control.
- Proven experience with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and ladder logic programming.
- Experience with battery technology including component selection, battery management systems and charging circuits preferred.
- Familiarity with simulation and analysis tools (e.g. SPICE, MATLAB/Simulink) and knowledge of simulation techniques is a plus.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues in a timely manner.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Intermediate computer literacy including use of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
