**Job Purpose**

Managing the day to day operations of the Motor Underwriting with the objective of ensuring effective and efficient Underwriting process and Portfolio Management of the Motor portfolio.

**The Job**
- Oversee the end-to-end operations of Motor Underwriting.
- Keep abreast of regulations and industry standards and ensure alignment with organization's SOPs to achieve sustainable and profitable underwriting outcome.
- Coach junior team members
- Takes accountability in considering business and regulatory compliance risks and takes appropriate steps to mitigate the risks.
- Maintains awareness of industry trends on regulatory compliance, emerging threats and technologies in order to understand the risk and better safeguard the company.
- Highlights any potential concerns /risks and proactively shares best risk management practices.

**The Person**:

- Possess a tertiary qualification or General Insurance Professional Qualification e.g. ACII/AMII/AAII.
- More than 7 years' experience in motor/general insurance underwriting and/or analytics role.
- **Key competencies**:

- Product Knowledge - Insurance Industry, Underwriting Skills.
- Decision making, Problem solving.
- Information seeking and keen sense of responsibility and commitment to results.
- Knowing the market information on underwriting and claims.
- High level of integrity, takes accountability of work and good attitude over teamwork
- Takes initiative to improve current state of things and adaptable to embrace new changes
