1. Analyze and interpret garment specifications, body measurements, and fitting standards to create patterns that ensure proper fit.
2. Adjust patterns for different sizes (grading) to create a range of sizes for each garment design.

4. Collaborate with the design team to create prototypes or first samples of the clothing to test the fit and design.
5. Understand how different fabrics behave and make adjustments to patterns accordingly to ensure the final garment meets the desired quality and fit.
5. Modify existing patterns to update designs, change fit, or improve garment construction based on customer feedback or fashion trends.
6. Work closely with the production and sewing teams to ensure patterns can be effectively and efficiently produced, minimizing material wastage and production errors.
7. Stay updated on the latest fashion trends, construction techniques, and pattern-making innovations to help create garments that are both fashionable and functional.
