**RESPONSIBILITIES**

**Curriculum**:
To teach English Language and Literature within the Senior School English Department

To work with the Head of English and other staff on the development of schemes of work, helping to build opportunities for the following:

- Ensuring progression
- Active learning
- Assessment for learning
- Meeting the needs of all learners

To instill and encourage a love of reading in pupils

**Learning**:
To maintain up-to-date records of pupil progress across all aspects of performance

To ensure that all pupils make progress in their English lessons through inclusive teaching practices

To deal effectively with behaviour, attendance and punctuality issues

To proactively seek out and engage with CPD opportunities

To be willing to take on responsibilities within the Department that support the progress of all pupils

**Assessment**:
To carry out the regular assessment and marking of pupils' work, according to the departmental and whole school assessment and marking policy

To keep records of pupil attainment and progress

To monitor pupil achievement against school data at the individual student and teaching group levels, and to take action to improve achievement

**MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS**

The successful applicant will be required to have the following:

- A B.Ed. or degree and PGCE.
- At least three years experience of the National Curriculum for either England & Wales, Scotland or equivalent international school curricula.
- Experience teaching Literature A-Level (or KS5 equivalent) experience preferred.
- We are seeking to appoint talented, highly motivated and well-qualified individuals. You
- should have a proven track record of outstanding teaching and learning.
- A mindset which understands all pupils have the potential for top performance and the
- drive and passion to enable them to do so.
- Experience which will enable a contribution to our extensive co-curriculum programme.
- Experience in a reputable international school would be highly regarded.
