Consulting Manager

As a Consulting Manager, you are expected to manage a team. Nurture your team to achieve their potential, coach them in attaining their vision of professional development. Support your team with career growth, training needs as well as resourcing projects. Be part of the strategic management in the new and growing, Cloud Assurance Production Services (CAPS) team, within our Delivery Services organization.

Be at the forefront of Guidewire’s ongoing migration to the cloud.

**Responsibilities**:

- Responsible for line management of a cross-functional team across multiple countries and time zones and cultures
- Onboard new hires, conduct quarterly (performance) check-ins, request \ deliver feedback and maintain individual development plans
- Engage in capacity \ resource planning in coordination with the staffing resource manager
- Lead organizational efforts such as workforce planning, knowledge management, and succession planning
- Lead organization-wide initiatives such as organizing training programs, technical workshops.
- Lead initiatives to improve current processes such as hiring, onboarding, career development, etc. ; share your opinion, question and contribute
- Handle performance issues and any arising internal conflict to resolution
- Make recommendations for promotions and \ or salary actions by gathering necessary feedback for informed decision-making
- Ensure available training and collateral (e.g. new product roll-out or skills development) is communicated to staff
- Monitor usage of paid time off and study leave to ensure compliance and work \ life balance
- Coordinate and project manage the completion of internal initiatives as assigned
- Coach, mentor and support the team as needed
- Work to create and maintain a strong Guidewire culture in the APAC CAPS team, and Kuala Lumpur office

**Required Skills \ Experience**:

- Experience as a people manager in a consulting organization or similar services organization within a software product company.
- Excellent problem solving and communication skills
- Demonstrated success with aligning teams to meet company and functional objectives
- Demonstrated success as a manager with the ability to hire, mentor, coach, and develop your team
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced and passionate environment

**Nice to Have**:

- BSc in Computer Science or equivalent from third-level or higher education institution
- A technical background would help in this role but is not a fixed requirement
