Linux Cloud Administrator

The Linux Administrator ensures proper management, operation, maintenance, and administration of enterprise-level networks and systems to ensure the availability, confidentiality, and integrity of IMT services in WHO.

**General Duties and Responsibilities**
- **Support and maintain** infrastructure and systems on Cloud platforms provisioned as SaaS, IaaS, PaaS, etc.
- **Manage and administer** the Azure cloud environment, including provisioning, configuration, performance monitoring, policy governance, and security.
- **Assess system configurations**, logs, and error messages; discern problems; and initiate preventative and corrective actions.
- **Monitor IMT services** and take detective, preventative, or corrective actions to ensure system availability, confidentiality, and integrity.
- **Resolve end-user and technical issues** ensuring proper operation, maintenance, and administration of IMT systems, active directory, messaging and collaboration systems, network services, file and print services, server provisioning, storage, backup, and recovery.
- **Maintain standard operating procedures** and other relevant documentation of operational systems and services, including a consolidated inventory of data centre assets.
- **Liaise with Premises Management services** and external providers for management of Data Centre and related facilities in the Global Service Centre in Kuala Lumpur.
- **Carry out other duties and responsibilities** as assigned by the supervisor.

**Functional Knowledge & Skills**
- Thorough and in-depth knowledge of Cloud platforms, Windows server operating systems, and Windows-based network services (e.g., AD, file, print, DFS, DNS).
- Knowledge of protocols such as DNS, HTTP/S, LDAP, SMTP, and SNMP.
- Experience in DB2, MySQL, MariaDB, PostgreSQL, and OpenLDAP.
- Experience with monitoring services and knowledge of the REST API and HTTP protocol.
- Experience with backup processes and Git repositories.
- Experience with Cloudflare, DNS records, and various domain providers.
- Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with Azure technologies and services.
- Strong scripting and automation skills with PowerShell or other scripting languages.
- Strong working knowledge of systems management, performance tuning, and monitoring tools.
- Thorough knowledge of x86-based server installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting; virtualization; networked storage systems; and backup and recovery systems with disaster recovery expertise.
- Able to effectively support many systems and users.
- Adaptability and flexibility for working in complex and changing environments and under pressure.
- Ability to work with limited supervision.
- Creativity in approach to new challenges, both technological and organizational.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills.

**Required Qualifications**
- University degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Management, or a related discipline.
- Relevant professional training and/or certification related to Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) server systems, Cloud platforms, virtualization, networked storage, and backup would be an advantage.
- Interest in furthering professional studies to keep current with changing technologies.

Pay: RM5,000.00 - RM8,000.00 per month
