We are looking for a strategic and proactive Sourcing Manager for our newly established heavy machinery assembly factory in Seremban - Sendayan Techvalley for the underground load & haul equipment.

The Load & Haul Division, the home of Sandvik loaders and trucks for underground mining business. Here we are safer, stronger, and smarter, as we like to say it. We have been the market leader by accelerating diesel and battery-electric equipment development, with sharpened priorities. We work in close co-operation with the sales areas within the Sandvik Mining and Rock Solutions Business Area, to provide the best possible service to our customers. Load & Haul home base is located in Turku, Finland. Additionally, we have operations in Camarillo, USA and Changzhou, China as well in Seremban, Malaysia.

In this position you are primarily responsible to conduct strategic sourcing method, supplier diversity, ensure supplier risk management, sustainable sourcing, best cost country souring, continuously monitor and evaluate supplier performance, ensure lead time for delivery of goods and services while maintaining quality standards. Collaborate closely with internal departments to understand their sourcing needs, specifications, and requirements - specialized for heavy-duty mechanical components, driveline parts, hydraulics components, electric & electronics parts (LV & HV), fasteners, Kanban parts, etc. APAC, EMEA, and AMER - Global Sourcing exposure would great value added for this role.
- Develop sourcing policy - establish, analyze & optimize sourcing strategy to align business goals
- Collaborate with stakeholders & local purchasing, engineering, quality, production & finance
- Partnering stakeholders, executive leaders, & process owners to understand business needs to establish requirement, scope & criteria for ongoing / upcoming procurement projects
- Manage vendor selection - leverage tools to facilitate strategic sourcing & managing the Request for Proposal process
- Leading initial market research & vendor profiles to assist in vendor selection
- Build supplier relationships - via Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) best practices throughout negotiation, contracting, onboarding, opportunity & renewal
- Analyzing procurement data - collecting & interpreting sourcing data including cost analysis reporting, benchmarking expenditures, and return on investment
- Optimizing sourcing processes - perform regular reviews of established sourcing processes to ensure continual improvement, refining policies when needed
- Planning & managing company’s overall sourcing (or specific category) strategies
- Research to understand company’s operational needs and requirement
- Building relationships with vendors & key suppliers
- Negotiate pricing and costs controlling
- Executing analyses and making suggestions for improvement in sourcing strategy
- Developing an annual budget based on sourcing needs
- Writing sourcing documentation & reviewing contracts
- Build & leverage internal business relationships to enhance value-focused strategies
- Proactively, seeking business optimization and cost savings or new capability and developing data-driven business cases to support their initiatives
- Staying current on industry and market trends and best practices
- Compliance with instructions and organizational practices at work
- Taking EHS and Quality requirements into account at work
- Ensure Sandvik Way of Working procedures are in place and always adhered to
- Participate in implementation and understand SAP module Hanna 4
- Battery technology background considered an advantage

Your background and what we find important

This role would be ideal for someone looking to further develop and motivated for new challenges to enhance expertise in the sourcing and supplier development area. As a person you have excellent communication and customer relationship skills, strategic, resourceful and deliver as required, fluent English speaking with a minimum 10 years’ experience in heavy machineries assembly / manufacturing environment or equivalent, familiar with LMW / Bonded Warehouse setup, extensive experience with SAP Hanna 4 & Ariba system utilization related sourcing function, expert of regional supply base, suitable degree or education certificate from technical & vocational institutions.
