**WHAT IS ON OFFER**

Alfred H Knight has an exciting opportunity for a Laboratory Technician to join the team. In this role, you will be reporting to the Senior Chemist and we require a suitably experienced Lab Technician to be employed at our operations in Bintulu, Sarawak Malaysia. You will be responsible for laboratory chemical analysis and testing activities in support of our client’s requirements in the region. This is a hands-on role requiring a practical, pragmatic and flexible approach, in all aspects, to ensure successful team working. Successful applicants will need to be able to work unsupervised from time to time on a shift pattern which includes nights, weekends and public holidays.

Main Responsibilities
- Perform chemical analysis and testing activities ensuring on time delivery to meet the client’s requirements including technical support or advice if necessary.
- Ensure all activities are performed within the AHKES quality system
- Submit or enter chemical analysis data in accordance with the quality system and AHK LIMS system
- Provide training for laboratory staff to ensure continuity of service if requested
- Comply with all local environmental, employment and health and safety legislation in performance of your work

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND WORK EXPERIENCE

**Required Work Experience**
- Ideally two plus years’ experience in a full service solid fuels laboratory environment role. It would be beneficial if applicants have experience of modern instrumental techniques such as ICPMS, EDXRF, Ion chromatography as well as more traditional proximate and ultimate analysis, all within an ISO 17025 environment
- Experience in laboratory equipment routine maintenance
- Fluent in English and computer literate to operate LIMS.

**Required Qualifications**
- A suitable academic college or university technical degree, preferably in analytical chemistry or alternatively suitable relevant or associated practical experience.
