**Job Summary**:
The Account Assistant is responsible for supporting the accounting department in various financial tasks, including maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, and assisting with financial reporting. The role requires attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- **Financial Record Keeping**:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of financial transactions.
- Assist in the preparation and maintenance of financial statements and reports.
- Ensure all financial data is entered into the accounting system accurately and timely.
- **Accounts Payable and Receivable**:
- Assist in processing invoices, payments, and receipts.
- Reconcile accounts payable and receivable balances.
- Follow up on outstanding payments and resolve discrepancies.
- **Bank Reconciliation**:
- Assist in reconciling bank statements with company records.
- Investigate and resolve any discrepancies between bank and company records.
- **Expense Management**:
- Process employee expense claims and ensure compliance with company policies.
- Assist in tracking and managing company expenses.
- **Data Entry and Management**:
- Input financial data into accounting software and maintain organized records.
- Assist in maintaining the general ledger and chart of accounts.
- **Support Financial Reporting**:
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Provide support during audits and assist in preparing audit schedules.
- **Compliance and Documentation**:
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies.
- Assist in preparing documentation for tax filings and other regulatory requirements.
- **Administrative Support**:
- Provide general administrative support to the accounting department.
- Assist with special projects and other tasks as assigned by the Senior Accountant or Finance Manager.
**Qualifications**:
- Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
