**Team Summary**

The Malaysia team comprises of a highly motivated bunch of problem solvers who create impactful experiences for our clients. **What a Business Development Leader does in Visa**:
Reporting to the Head of Sales in Malaysia, this role will be entrusted with a key portfolio of responsibilities including relationship management and the advancement of sales disciplines.
- Relationship management for a group of assigned accounts and work on growing overall Client volumes across all products (Debit, Credit, Prepaid & Commercial)
- Develop and maintain relationship between VISA and the clients through deep client engagements across client organization and all relevant stakeholders
- Contribute to development, production and implementation of initiatives outlined in Country and Account Plans
- Gather ongoing intelligence, monitor and analyse competitor strategies as well as to lead strategic responses in ensuring Visa’s competitiveness
- Attend to all client queries and issues, and provide timely and efficient solutions
- Develop an understanding of client strengths and opportunities and partner them to maximize their business potential
- Expand the penetration of existing as well as emerging products within current and new accounts
- Provide periodical reports (Weekly/Monthly/Quarterly) as agreed with Manager
- Contribute to the development of functional strategy
- Work closely with Marketing, Product, Merchant Sales and Solutions and other functions, you will be responsible for championing and leading the product and marketing development strategy of:

- New product penetration within current and new accounts or
- Expanding the penetration of existing products within current and new accounts
- Focus on advocacy to lay the foundation for the next phase of growth
- Establish alliance partners (non-banks, technology service providers, merchants) and create new business opportunities for growth of Visa business

The individual will work closely with our in-market team to meet client needs by bringing the best of Visa locally, regionally, and globally.

**Projects you will be a part of**:

- Building on the foundation of the payments ecosystem that is already set in Malaysia through a diverse set of partners and clients - financial institutions, merchants, fintech, government agencies, NGOs and other stakeholders.
- Expanding the Visa franchise in Malaysia

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office two days a week, Tuesdays and Wednesdays with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% of the time based on business needs.

**Qualifications**:
What you will need:

- At least 12 years of proven sales and relationship management, with expertise in the payments / financial services industry
- Strong track record of client service, strategy development and execution
- Strong management skills and ability to lead a team within a matrixed management organization.
- Proven ability to run, grow and protect the franchise collaboratively across functions and geographies.
- Ability to adapt to market needs and lead change management in an evolving environment.
