Banquet Technician

**Job Summary**:
The Banquet Technician is responsible for setting up, operating, and breaking down all technical and audiovisual equipment for banquet functions, conferences, and special events. This role ensures events run smoothly from a technical perspective, meeting the expectations of clients and the venue.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Set up and operate audiovisual equipment such as microphones, speakers, projectors, screens, mixers, lighting, and video conferencing tools.
- Conduct pre-event testing to ensure all equipment is functioning correctly.
- Coordinate with event planners, banquet staff, and clients to understand technical needs and timelines.
- Provide on-site technical support during events to troubleshoot and resolve issues promptly.
- Assist with room setup, including staging, seating arrangements, and electrical needs.
- Maintain inventory and condition of AV equipment, reporting maintenance needs.
- Ensure all setups comply with safety and quality standards.
- Break down and store equipment properly after each event.
- Maintain accurate event documentation and logs.
- Support other team members in banquet operations as needed.

**Qualifications**:

- High school diploma or equivalent (some positions may prefer technical training or certification in AV or event production).
- 1+ year of experience in audiovisual or banquet/event setup preferred.
- Familiarity with AV systems, soundboards, lighting controls, and video projection.
- Ability to lift heavy equipment (up to 50 lbs) and work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to customer service.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

**Preferred Skills**:

- Knowledge of event software or AV control systems.
- Experience in hotel or hospitality environments.
- Basic electrical or rigging knowledge.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Contract
Contract length: 12 months

Pay: RM1,700.00 per month
