Job Summary

Data Analyst is responsible for supporting the Data Delivery function and business owners / users to deliver data management initiatives.

Job Qualifications

Required:

- Bachelors Degree and 5 or more years of experience in the Data Analysis or Database Analysis area

OR
- High School Diploma or Equivalent and 7 or more years of experience in the Data Analysis or Database Analysis area

AND
- 3 or more years of data base analysis experience
- 2 or more years experience working in an actuarial or accounting environment
- Experience using SAS
Preferred:

- Advanced Microsoft Office skills
- Strong communication and time management skills

Job Accountabilities - Key Accountabilities
- Assesses demand of the organization and identifies business requirements to support data initiatives.
- Support data focused initiatives and implementations.
- Communicate with business owners.
- Collaborate with data stakeholders to understand and translate business requirement into data management initiatives to achieve business goals.
- Perform data-related functions including: analysis, cleansing, mapping, and visualization.

Job Functions
- Participate in leadership team meetings to provide specialist guidance, including proposing data / analytic strategies for cost savings / income optimization, and enable the implementation of policy, projects and change initiatives.

Business Accountabilities
- Support development and implementation of key data programs to ensure enterprise and business meets set data objectives and goals.
- Assist in deployment of policies and innovative solutions to maintain regulatory compliance and deliver process / product enhancements.
- Conduct core analyses based on research and modelling to understand and quantify the risks associated with proposed policies, regulatory change or external factors (e.g. environmental, political, economic).
- Analyze and review data from the complex data analysis projects to make informed and authoritative recommendations in order to address business needs and improve business performance.
- Perform root cause analysis to identify data anomalies and communicate back to the data stewards.
- Present results to the business unit leader in a preferred tool (e.g. Office Suite, report or dashboard).
- Assess data needs and demand of the organization, within and outside of Enterprise, Data, Analytics and Architecture, to understand issues relevant to different business units and recommend process and system improvement to address these issues.
- Define the requirements for analysis within a given business area and identifying patterns to help the business react to changing business conditions.
