**ROLE POSITIONING AND OBJECTIVES**

This role is part of GBS Corporate Finance Team.

The primary responsibility of the role is to proactively drive the delivery of Statutory & Management Reporting in accordance with Accounting Standards and Governance Controls for the Global Device Development Centre (GDDC).

This role requires to work with the market to deliver robust and agile financial forecasting, reporting, and important analysis, often for senior Finance partners and key business meetings. This role requires close collaboration with both the Finance Manager and Financial Controller, and heavily involve in dealing directly with senior stakeholders from GDDC. The role includes delivering Month End, Half Year, Fast Close and Year End financial reporting while identifying Operational Efficiencies in key areas to achieve BAU results.

**WHAT YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR**
- Ensure month end close activities, statutory and management financial reporting are performed on time
- Performs monthly analytical reviews and prepares meaningful commentaries to explain results
- Preparation of journal for any ad-hoc request and performs monthly analytical reviews commentary
- Facilitate Budgeting and Financial Forecasting process by managing the delivery of financial information and scenarios required as defined in the Integrated Business Planning and Performance Management framework (via Business Objects Planning & Consolidation system), in line with the agreed service level agreements of the Centre
- Prepares additional year-end financial information to meet the disclosure requirements of BAT’s annual financial statements
- Investigating and responding to ad-hoc queries/reporting relating to financial performance and analysis requests
- Coordinate the delivery of internal and external statutory audit exercise
- GDDC functional SPOC: Point of contact for everyday activities which need stakeholders to action on or clarification required by stakeholders including support local statutory tax and banking activities
- GDDC Finance business partners: both located in the GBS CFOM team and at the stakeholders from GDDC, collating, understanding and challenging the required inputs, and following up on remediation plans
- Works closely with other GBS teams and will have opportunities to work in cross-functional teams to focus on specific process improvement and/or analysis and insight
- Advises in initiatives to standardise and improve processes, offering suggestions to the relevant leadership team to improve process compliance

**ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, AND KNOWLEDGE**
- Able to read, write & communicate in Mandarin
- At least 5 years of relevant financial experience or similar dynamic operating environment
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance. Professional accountancy qualification i.e. CA/ACCA/CIMA/CPA will be an added advantage
- Understand the impact of the accounting process and practice (IFRS and group reporting guidelines). Good knowledge of Management Accounting techniques in relation to Profit and Loss Statement, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow
- Understand the platforms and analyse reports, identify issues and challenges within reports functionalities and data
- Computer Literate: SAP or ERP equivalent / Microsoft Excel
- Detail-oriented, analytical, proactive, and can work under pressure with minimum supervision
- Knowledgeable in identifying risks and in implementing controls
