**Responsibilities**: Secretariat - Act as the Secretariat to the Shariah Committee of Citi Malaysia; - Escalates any Shariah non-compliance event to Citi's SC, BoD and if required by law, to the relevant regulatory body Risk & Controls - Conduct periodic Shariah reviews and ad-hoc Shariah control / audit related requests as needed; - Ensure adherence to all relevant laws, rules and regulations and these include resolutions by the BNM SAC, Securities Commission Shariah Committee; - Ensures internal reviews and external examinations are well managed with clearly evidenced controls; - Serve as the Islamic coordinator on Manager Control Assessment (MCA) Quarterly Risk Assessment and the Annual Risk Assessment process; - Pro-actively identifies emerging risks and assists the control team with resolving control gaps and issues and helps to create corrective action plans, inclusive of root cause identification and resolution; - Actively focus on process improvement, creating efficiencies, and ensuring proactive approach and partnership to audit management. Reporting - Ensure relevant internal/ external Shariah Control reporting(s) are done accurately and on a timely manner, this would include Board, Senior Management, Shariah Committee Remedial Actions - Constructively challenge decisions that may give rise to Shariah noncompliance risks Partnership & Support - Partners with the team on all new or modified processes to review through the appropriate governance routines and launch with adequate controls which can be monitored and reported; - Provided support of assigned business area by attending and participating in business meeting routines to provide control related updates to the team and learn about any new initiatives the team will need to support. **Qualifications**: - 5-8 years’ experience in Islamic banking and financial services in areas of governance, control compliance or legal disciplines - Shariah secretariat, controls, audit or risk management knowledge will be an added advantage - Outstanding relationship building and relationship management skills - Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills - Self-motivated and detail oriented **Education**: - Bachelor’s/University degree in Shariah/Islamic Banking or relevant certifications/ qualifications in Shariah/ Islamic Banking & Finance. - **Job Family Group**: Risk Management - **Job Family**: Business Risk & Controls - **Time Type**: Full time - Citi is an equal opportunity and affirmative action employer.
