Why does this job exist and why is it critical?

Responsible for Packet Core/Policy & Charging Control/Evolve Packet Core/Core Switches/Zone Router platform’s network planning, network dimensioning and detailed network design. Also to ensure end-to-end data core network capacity management which includes network capacity monitoring, network resource & traffic trending and upgrade triggering.

What are you accountable for?
- Responsible for the PS/EPC Core element’s detail design and is represents the PS/EPC core network design team on (and/or company) initiatives’ execution and manage deliverables against business requirements.
- Design authority for the Gn/Gp switches and DNS, Core Switches and Zone Routers.
- Network capacity management. Manage and ensure healthy network utilization to support growth for all lines of business. Timely core network build and expansion to ensure no network congestion and no interruption to customers and services offered throughout the year
- Packet Core’s expansion rollout strategy. Key initiatives - LTE’s data development, PS core capacity upgrade, and data products & VAS development, etc.
- Ensure good network quality to support business growth and good customer experience via routine network performance assessment and optimization.
- Assist in trouble-shooting network faults by providing assistance when and where required by other teams.
- Process Enhancement. Participate in improving existing processes by providing constructive feedback and assist to draft new process flows.

What do you need to have for this role?
- Degree in Computer Science (Networking), Telecommunication or similar
- 8 Years of work experience and 4 Years of relevant experience in similar capacity
- Experience in network design, dimensioning, planning and development of Packet Core systems (SGSN, GGSN, CG, PCC)
- Experience in design and planning of Routers and Switches
- Experience in IP interworking between Data Core network elements with subscriber management
- Experience in developing and solutioning for new services and products
- Skills on troubleshooting tools (e.g. wireshark, K15, nethawk)
- Excellent research, analytical, planning and organizational skills
