SUMMARY OF ROLE
The primary purpose of the Analyst, Risk Management, is to participate in the delivery of the Information Security program with a focus on conducting information security risk assessments against the processes and technology that handle the organization’s information and assets in order to reduce the overall risk profile of the organization. The role will contribute to the activities associated with the Risk Management team within the Information Security organization. This role does not have any supervisory responsibilities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND FUNCTION
INDIVIDUAL- Coordinate and manage activities within the Risk Management team.- Perform security risk assessments, identify control gaps, and develop a risk treatment plan.- Ensure all Risk assessment, monitoring and reporting activities are properly documented and updated as necessary for the service provided by the Risk Management team.- Assess the effectiveness of security controls.- Assess adequate controls based on principles of least privilege and need-to-know.- Identify measures or indicators of service performance and the actions needed to improve or correct performance, relative to the goals of the service.- Monitor and measure risk, compliance, and assurance efforts in accordance with departmental guidelines.- Analyze the results of the Scope and Business Impact assessment of processes and technologies.-
- Generate service queries and reports as required.
SHARED- Assist with the development and documentation of Risk Management standards, policies, and procedures.- Participate in the testing and evaluation of tools for implementation.- Assist with the development of measures of effectiveness and measures of performance.- Provide input to the Risk Management Framework process activities and related documentation.- Participate in Risk Governance process to provide security risks, mitigations, and input on other risk.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, SKILLS AND LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS
Education and/or training (certifications etc.) should indicate knowledge in one or more of the following areas:
- Computer networking concepts and protocols, and network security methodologies. [K0001]- Risk management processes (e.g., methods for assessing and mitigating risk). [K0002]- Cybersecurity and privacy principles. [K0004]- Cyber threats and vulnerabilities. [K0005]- Conducting information searches.- Utilizing knowledge management technologies.- Effectively conveying information to others.- Utilizing feedback to improve processes, products, and services.- Skill in performing impact/risk assessments.
