The **Category Development Manager** is accountable for category development according to the defined strategy in the assigned channel, this to achieve growth and profitability as well as to identify opportunities for the category (per customer) and define and execute all in-store activation plans to grow and to become more profitable. Translate insights into trade argumentations and solutions to achieve category leadership and Perfect Store targets.
**Responsibilities and Key Activities**:
- Identify key growth opportunities for both category and company within given channels and customers
- Delivers channel and customer specific category insights.
- Provide daily sales support on distribution, assortment and shelf deviations and opportunities.
- Provide field sales support with all required info (market & brand development, shelf plans, timings, introductions, quotes);
- Work closely with Channel Sales Managers to help them (& provide all information) to develop the category plan (and execute the Perfect Store) within given channel/customers.
- Support marketing to develop the annual Marketing and Brand Plans - starting with category insights and growth drivers.
- Lead the proposal of new promotional activity with our products to increase our promotional effectiveness per customer and increase sales for both companies.
- Drill down Perfect Store KPIs to customer level and provide transparent feedback bottom-up on what’s working and what’s not yet.
- Lead in prioritizing, developing and executing the full trade communication strategy and plan.
**Qualifications**:
- Bachelor's in Business, Economics or Marketing.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Channel & Category Development/ Shopper Marketing/ Trade Marketing
- FMCG experience, preferably in an international environment
- Independent & good team player, good communication skills with fluency in English
- Advance in Microsoft Excel & Powerpoint
- Knowledge of information system tools (AC Nielsen, Kantar)
