Medical Records Clerk

To ensure strict standards of confidentiality of Medical Records are maintained at all times and access to patient’s Medical Records is strictly controlled as per authorization list.
- To trace, verify and release Medical Records files upon request by the authorized person or departments and consultant clinics.
- To keep proper records so as to maintain traceability of the notes after they are released from Medical Records Department and to ensure files are returned by their expected dates of return.
- To collect, verify and review records for completeness, accuracy and compliance with Policies & Procedures and ensure documentations in Medical Records files are in standard chronological order as per Medical Records Checklist.
- To assist in the compilation of medical record statistics and key performance indicators and Regulatory notifications where needed.
- To assist in the ICD coding and the tabulation of information as required by the Ministry of Health.
- To maintain an up to date systematic order of filing of Medical Records for ease of tracing.
- To assist in processing of Medical Reports and answering and forwarding phone calls when necessary.
- To prepare medical records for the annual disposal according to scheduled times and according to Policy & Procedure.
- To adhere to all Policies & Procedures accordingly and carry out additional duties that are considered appropriate within Medical Records Departments as and when required by the Medical Records Executive or Medical Records Officer and the Quality and Training Manager.
