Finance Change Delivery supports transformation activities within Global Finance.
Change Delivery works proactively with multiple stakeholders, including end users of Finance systems and IT teams to develop effective and efficient financial reporting platforms and processes. The objective of Change Delivery is to deliver strategic ways of working and enable Global Finance to adapt to the ever changing financial reporting landscape.
This regional role is based in Malaysia.
**What you’ll do**:
This is a role in the Regional Finance Change Delivery team. The role holder shall be involved in projects covering Finance General Ledger and other Finance systems used across HSBC Asia Pacific sites. Successful completion of projects shall require close engagement with cross functional teams from Global Finance, Global Business and Functions.
Project related accountabilities:
- Gather requirements from users and perform detailed impact assessment
- Ensure business requirements are understood and that the proposed solutions satisfy financial reporting needs.
- Recommend changes to the proposed operating model to further improve effectiveness
- Translate user needs into technical requirements such that IT teams may commence build
- Source appropriate data into Finance system that can serve multiple reporting needs,
- Participate in test and validation activities
- Participate in user training and other implementation activities to ensure successful project go-live
- Maintain adequate controls over the entire change process
Other recurring activities include:
- Support Finance reporting cycle
- Query support for Finance teams across the region
- Investigate and rectify exceptions
- Reconcile between source data and general ledger data
- Control and update reference data
Requirements
**What you will need to succeed in the role**:
- Prior experience in Financial/Management Reporting role **and / or** prior experience in managing projects or working in a project environment
- Ability to work with diverse stakeholders and to align them towards project goals
- Able to work flexibly in a fast paced environment and handle multiple competing priorities such that timelines are met
- Proven ability in problem solving and critical thinking
- Excellent communication skills across all media.
**What additional skills will be good to have?**
- Professional Accounting qualifications will be an advantage
- Knowledge of banking products is an advantage
- Ability to act as a bridge between Finance and IT teams
- An appreciation of Financial Services industry internal and external reporting processes
