What’s the role?

As Pricing Advisor, you will manage Commercial Road Transport (CRT) fuels margin in Asia. Pricing continues to be one of the key strategic pillars for CRT business with the objective to deliver the business bottom line globally. The Pricing Advisor will be a critical contributor by maximizing the integrated margin for CRT through the implementation of pricing strategy and initiatives which support the regional and local business aspirations, balancing short and long terms effects.
- Responsible for margin income through daily monitoring of the pricing & margin performance of specific OU/OUs. Recommending dynamic price changes based on oil market dynamics and other regional/local input data.
- Daily/weekly operational approval of prices going to customers in the Philippines, Thailand & Malaysia. Other markets (Indian, etc.) entries to follow once they are mature.
- Development of new and innovative pricing schemes & Customer Value Propositions (CVP) in strong collaboration with the Sales and Marketing teams; ensuring both top and bottom-line growth of the region.
- Leverage integrated values by liaising with Trading & Supply, identifying value opportunities, and turning them into concrete CVP.
- Strengthen the Fixed Price CVP as a real differentiator for Shell in collaboration with the Risk Management Team in Trading.
- Monitor customer profitability through the customer life cycle and initiate corrective actions to improve business margins for existing customers.
- Monitor and manage the discount exposure & develop and implement concepts to increase efficiencies, such as DDG (Differentiated Discount Groups) optimization and tiered rebate implementation.
- Frequent and detailed engagement and alignment with the Retail B2C and Fleet Solutions East pricing teams, as well as daily communication with sales team leaders/AMs in the region.
- Strengthen competitor intelligence by ensuring a continuous and structured capturing of data and providing insights to the sales teams.
- Track and manage all risks and exposures to Shell and ensure compliance in the area of pricing decisions to end customers or partners. Build and implement the PRM.
- Implement the fuel pricing strategy in the region/OUs. Define the right discount position based on value pricing and customer banding.
- Take price decisions, fact-based and supported by sound analysis (pricing elasticity, price-volume relationship, and competitive pricing).
- Monitor, analyze and report Shell and Competitor pricing behavior. Leverage synergies by collaborating with Mobility B2C, SFS Pricing & T&S.
- Engage sales teams to provide a two-way flow of competitor/market information. Craft margin optimization strategies and KPIs tracking.
- Promote pricing discipline and competencies in the region, especially within the sales force.
- Ensuring that pricing becomes an integral part of the implementation of CRT business strategy and that all pricing decisions are strategically robust and appropriate to meet the business objectives and the delivery of the business plan.
- Formulate the right mix of elements (including fees) of a winning offer depending on the weaknesses and strengths of our competitors.

What we need from you?

As a Pricing Advisor, you will be involved in daily operational clearance of pricing out & also create both short-term tactics & long-term strategies to improve monetization & also adapt to new technologies/regulations causing market disruptions to traditional businesses. Part of this evolution has already started in our regional business portfolio
- Stakeholder engagement. Engage and seek support on pricing proposals, bidding offers, etc.
- Resilient. Could work under time pressure according to the bidding timeline and the Oil fluctuation.
- Learning mindset. Quick learner of different regulations from different countries. l Virtual management and cross countries management. As this position would cover 3-4 countries
- E2E value chain understanding of B2B Fuel industry, especially experience in T&S, pricing risk management, pricing setting, etc.
- Good data analytical skills could bring smart pricing proposals based on information, data collection, and solid data analysis.
- Min 10 years of relevant working experience.
