I. MANAGEMENT OF SERVICES:
- To implement nutritional care and special diet plans.
- To provide Dietetic services to both in-patient and out-patients.
- Assist in managing departmental inventories in an effective manner.
- To conduct nutritional and dietetic screenings or assessments for assigned patients.
- To support & provide diet counseling for both in-patients and out-patients on therapeutic diets when referred by the Consultants or Medical Practitioners.
- To prescribe therapeutic diets, enteral tube feeding and parenteral feeding in consultation with the referring Consultant or Medical Practitioners.
- To liaise with Kitchen on patients’ dietary menu to cater patients’ nutritional requirements.
- To assist the Management in providing Nutritional or Dietary talks and/ or train on diet and nutrition to patients, staff or public whenever necessary.
- Assist in preparing educational materials such as handouts, brochures or posters to be given to patients during diet counselling.
- To participate in health campaign activities such as Corporate Social Responsibilities (CSR) organized by the hospital when required.
- To ensure all patients are being treated with great care and responsibility with all appropriate Food & Dietetic services or counselling.
- To provide necessary advices, communication & cooperation with Consultants, Doctors, Clinical or Allied Professionals in providing optimal care to patients.
- To ensure all standards in patient care services are being maintained in high standards at all times.
- Protecting privacy and confidentiality of patients record.
- Being professional, taking ownership of own attitude toward Service Excellence.
- To work closely with Consultants, Doctors and other healthcare professional and collaborates with other departments in ensuring patient care delivery as to ensure optimal patients satisfaction.
- To ensure the overall activities are carried out professionally, ethically and in a timely manner.
- To perform other duties or activities as assigned by Superior and/or Management as and when required.
II. MANAGEMENT:
- Understands and plans the Dietetic requirements in line with Vision and Mission Statements, Goals and Objectives that suit the scope of the Dietetic Services.
- Foster an environment where communication is encouraged and welcome.
- Updates Dietetic statistics, performances, activities, improvements and achievements.
- Prepares and submits monthly reports and proposals for the development of services in the unit.
III. FACILITIES AND EQUIPMENT
Ensure:
- Adequate Dietetic supplies of resources are available at all times.
- Records and inventories for department’s equipment are maintained.
IV. WORK SCHEDULE COMPLIANCE
- Demonstrates punctuality by being ready and available for work at start of assigned shift and in accordance with HSB and departmental policy.
- Works scheduled hours in accordance with departmental lunch/break time.
- To ensure the overall activities are carried out professionally, ethically and in a timely manner.
- To perform other duties or activities as assigned by Superior as and when required.
