Assistant Manager, Procurement

Job Responsibilities:
To establish, administer, implement and take-up responsibility for the full spectrum of Material Control Department and general administration functions as follows:
Procurement
- Developing a procurement strategies that are inventive and cost-saving exercise
- Responsible for sourcing, evaluating, negotiating to secure the advantageous terms with reliable suppliers and vendors
- Quotation Management (cost up and down analysis, new quotation analysis)
- Inventory Management (analyze daily product and supply levels to anticipate inventory problems and shortages)
- Cooperate and notify to Management for any abnormalities issues related to products and materials
- Implement and organize proper tendering procedure and bidding management system for suppliers
- Prepare a contract for new supplier and reviewing existing contracts with suppliers and vendors to ensure on-going feasibility
- Manage contract renewal/expiry in a timely manner prior to expiry
- Performing risk assessment on potential contracts and agreements
- Monitor and review status of all purchase requisition (PR) and purchase order (PO)
- Preparing all related procurement reports and ensuring achieve Procurement KPI target
- Building and maintaining good relationship with vendors and suppliers
- Maintain and filing contractual document in the proper tools
- Responsible in management of the approved and registered vendors/suppliers in the system
- Conduct business review with preferred suppliers on a periodic basis to assess their performance, providing interactive feedback and implementing action plans for continuous improvement and risk mitigations
- Perform analysis of market and supplier competitiveness with recommended actions to business
- Review and improvise on policies and procedures for the Procurement department
- Provide guidance and advise to procurement team on procurement matters
- Stay up to date with current trend and regulations within the scope of Procurement
- Act in line strictly with all applicable external laws and internal policies
- Adhere to safety rules and procedures. Encourage peer and team member to adopt the established safety code, practices and regulatory requirement.
Warehouse
- Establish Warehouse Standard of Procedures, best practices and guidelines for Warehouse
- Responsible for the overall daily warehouse operations, stock in and out flow movement as well as maintaining a proper storage and inventory system management
- Responsible for the accurate receiving, storage, retrieval and distribution of goods to our customers on a timely basis as per scheduled
- To lead and supervise warehouse staff in executing their job function
- To control daily operations to ensure smooth operation with cost effective measures
- To be responsible for overall warehouse 5S, tidiness, cleanliness and safety issues
- LMW maintain, ensure monthly report submission on time and yearly LMW license awarded
- Determine and track most important warehouse KPIs such as FIFO, DOS & OTD
Logistics
- Obtain and organize Vendor Delivery Schedule
- Coordinate with warehouse, dealers, forwarders, suppliers on document compliance & shipment details
- To ensure smooth flow of inbound shipments so that can receive our goods on time and in good condition.
- Follow up of all the shipping process and documentation
- Purchasing of insurance of goods if required
- Manage and update of loading process from lorry / trailer to our factory
- Updating inventory count and maintaining inventory records
- Responsible for overall communication with custom or the other agencies
- Responsible for import compliances for any import items
- Responsible for arrangement of goods to customer either using Free On Board (FOB) or Cost, Insurance and Freight (CIF) term.
General Administration
- To coordinate ad-hoc/periodically audit at vendors premises or whenever required
- To liaise with user department (such as Production, QC, Finance, Warehouse etc.) for confirmation of order, terms of delivery/shipment and payment terms
- To carry out others task as and when been instructed by the superior
**Requirements**:
- Minimum 7 years’ of working experience in Procurement Management
- Strong knowledge in cost management (cost based negotiation, cost analysis and cost modelling)
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Knowledge in highly explosive raw materials
- Strong enthusiasm and ability to perform tasks under pressure
- Able to work in fast-paced working environment
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Good time management, multi-tasking and able to work with minimum supervision
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Ms Excel, Word, Powerpoint etc.)
- Positive attitude and support Management strategies
- Must be willing to work in Tanjung Langsat, Pasir Gudang.
**Salary**: RM5,000.00 - RM7,000.00 per month
