Assistant General Manager

The Assistant General Manager is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing the full spectrum of business operations — from front-end commercial activities to back-end support functions.
This role drives strategic execution, ensures operational excellence, and supports sustainable growth across all product lines.
You will work closely with internal teams and external partners to strengthen business performance, enhance efficiency, and ensure alignment with company objectives and market demands in a fast-paced, results-driven environment.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Lead the formulation and execution of short
- and long-term strategic plans to ensure continued growth and profitability.
- Oversee day-to-day operations including manufacturing, supply chain, technical service, finance, HR, and administration.
- Drive sales performance and provide strategic direction to commercial teams to achieve revenue and market share targets.
- Guide and support marketing efforts to strengthen brand positioning and expand market reach.
- Ensure efficient and effective supply chain and manufacturing processes, meeting productivity and cost-efficiency targets.
- Develop and maintain strong internal controls; drive continuous improvement in processes, systems, and policies.
- Lead, mentor, and develop teams across departments to ensure high engagement, capability development, and performance.
- Represent the company in high-level discussions with customers, business partners, and group-level stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with all statutory regulations, group policies, and corporate governance requirements.
**Key Requirements**
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field
- 15+ years of experience, with at least 5 in a senior leadership or general management role
- Industry background in paints, coatings, building materials, chemicals, or manufacturing preferred
- Proven success in leading cross-functional teams and driving business growth
- Strong P&L management, commercial, and operational expertise
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills
- Proficient in ERP systems (ideally SAP) and Microsoft Office
- Results-driven, decisive, and comfortable in a fast-paced, hands-on environment
- Collaborative team player with sound judgment and high accountability
- This opportunity is available to individuals authorized to work in Malaysia.
Pay: RM20,000.00 - RM25,000.00 per month
**Experience**:
- Operations Management: 10 years (preferred)
- Process Improvement & Governance: 8 years (preferred)
- Operational Efficiency & Cost Management: 10 years (preferred)
- Supply Chain & Manufacturing Optimization: 10 years (preferred)
