**Lead Database Administrator**

Location: Selangor, Cyberjaya, Malaysia

**About the Role**

Our client, a leading financial services institution, is expanding its IT Database team in Malaysia and is seeking a highly skilled **Lead Database Administrator (DBA)**. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a **mission-critical environment**, overseeing database platforms, ensuring operational stability, and leading a team of skilled DBAs.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Provide **Level 3 technical support** for enterprise database platforms, primarily Oracle and Microsoft SQL, with exposure to MySQL and DB2.
- Lead and mentor a team of database administrators, ensuring effective workload management and professional development.
- Manage **daily database operations**, including patching, hardening, backup, and health checks.
- Oversee **incident and service request management**, ensuring SLAs are met and critical issues (P1/P2) are resolved promptly.
- Participate in and direct **disaster recovery (DR) activities**, database migration, and upgrade projects.
- Ensure compliance with **ITIL processes, internal governance, and audit requirements**.
- Monitor performance and capacity of Oracle Exadata / ExaCC environments, providing weekly and monthly reports.
- Recommend process improvements to enhance **team efficiency, security, and service quality**.

**What We’re Looking For**
- Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent.
- **7+ years of hands-on experience** in Oracle and Microsoft SQL database administration.
- Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) preferred.
- Proven leadership in managing DBA teams in large-scale enterprise environments.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and mentoring skills.
- High integrity with a proactive and adaptable mindset.
- Located in Selangor (Cyberjaya)
