Logistics Customs Clearance Executive

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Customs Clearance Process**:

- Prepare and submit accurate customs declarations (e.g., K1, K2, K3, K9, AEO) for imports and exports in compliance with Malaysian Customs laws and regulations.
- Ensure the correct declaration of goods for duty assessment, including taxes and excise duties under Malaysia’s Goods and Services Tax (GST) regime.
- **Compliance with Customs Laws**:

- Stay updated on changes to Malaysian customs regulations, tariffs, exemptions, and free trade agreements (FTAs) such as AFTA, CPTPP, etc.
- Ensure compliance with all import/export laws under the Customs Act 1967, Free Zones Act, and other relevant legislation.
- Advise management and clients on customs-related matters, including duty reductions, tax exemptions, and compliance with customs regulations.
- **Documentation Management**:

- Compile and verify all required documents for customs clearance, including commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, certificates of origin, and other supporting documentation.
- Ensure that all customs documentation is completed accurately and submitted on time to the Royal Malaysian Customs Department (RMCD).
- Maintain organized records of all customs declarations, including documentation related to imports, exports, and tax payment.
- **Coordination & Communication**:

- Serve as the primary point of contact with customs authorities, ensuring smooth interactions and facilitating prompt responses to any customs queries.
- Coordinate with internal teams (logistics, warehouse, finance, etc.) and customer to ensure all necessary documentation is in place for timely customs declarations and clearance.
- Resolve any issues or discrepancies related to customs clearance in collaboration with customs authorities and other parties.
- **Duty & Tax Management**:

- Ensure accurate calculation and payment of duties and taxes for shipments, taking into account the latest customs tariffs and applicable taxes.
- **Problem Solving & Risk Management**:

- Address any discrepancies or issues in customs declarations, ensuring that they are resolved promptly to avoid delays in clearance.
- Work closely with RMCD and other relevant parties to resolve issues such as incorrect documentation, classification errors, or late submissions.
- **Continuous Improvement**:

- Suggest improvements to streamline the customs declaration process and enhance efficiency.
- Proactively identify and address potential compliance risks or bottlenecks in the customs declaration workflow.

**Requirements**:

- **Education**:

- A Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, International Trade, or a related field is preferred.
- **Experience**:

- 1 to 2 years of experience in customs declarations, logistics, or freight forwarding, with a solid understanding of Malaysian customs regulations.
- Familiarity with Malaysian customs procedures, including tariff classification, import/export documentation, and duty/tax calculations, is preferred.
- Knowledge on HS code classification and AEO would be an advantage.
- **Skills**:

- Knowledge of Malaysian Customs laws, regulations, and tariff schedules (HS codes).
- Proficiency in using customs declaration software and systems.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Good communication skills for interacting with customs authorities, vendors, and internal teams.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills to handle high volumes of shipments and documentation.
- **Certifications**:

- Kursus Ejen Kastam (KEK) certification would be an advantage.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Contract
Contract length: 12 months

Pay: RM2,500.00 - RM2,800.00 per month
