About the Role

Reporting to Manager - Investment Accounting Project & Governance, this position is accountable for Investment Accounting operations, provision and delivery of Investment Accounting related services to AIA entities in accordance with applicable accounting & regulatory policies, standards and guidelines relating to IFRS 9 implementation and other matters related to AIA Group’s investments.
- System Testing and Production Cut-Over_
- Support overall delivery of projects on assessment of current end-to-end processes, design of business transactions, system testing, implementation, production cut-over and post-implementation support
- Identify and assess process/system deficiencies in solutions with consultations with SAP Solution Architects and formulate and implement improvements
- Collaborate with GFS-IA to review end-to-end Investment Accounting systems & process design relating to FAM and manage implementation of recommendations through to completion, including timely & regular updates to Business Process Manuals to achieve sustainable best-in-class operations and maximise the scale potential of the GFS
- Assess system capabilities and deficiencies against business requirements with consultations with Group SAP Solution Architects and SAP COE to formulate and implement improvements/enhancements
- Participate in continuous investment accounting projects impacting Investment Accounting operations, including requirements gathering, impact assessment, solutions formulation, implementation and post-implementation support
- Support the Manager in resource planning including recruitment, training, development, resource planning and performance management
- Support the Manager on other GFS-related projects and operations, where required
- Project Management_
- Ensure delivery to agreed timescales or provide clear, supportable justifications for exceptions
- Clearly document workstream scope and ensure traceability of this through all stages of delivery
- Ensure key clients and stakeholders of the future state solution are engaged, participate in delivery, and have their needs met upon project completion
- Manage all project issues and risk relevant stakeholding communities for resolution
- Ensure Workstream documentation is managed and maintained using PMO provided tools
- Governance (High Quality Documentation of, Delivery and Rollout)_
- Provide SME input and industry best practice on process transformation, organizational structure change and centralization in a shared service unit.

Job Requirements:

- Education:

- University Degree in Accounting/Finance
- Pursuing Internationally Recognised Professional Accountancy Qualification (ACCA, CPA etc) is an added advantage
- Experience:

- 5+ years accounting and finance experience with a multi-national asset management/insurance operation, and/or accounting and auditing experience with a big-sized accounting firm specialising in the financial services industry.
- 1+ year of supervisory and people management role
- Experience in a shared services or similar environment, executing outsourcing migration projects in relation to accounting and finance services
- Experience in a shared services or similar environment, identifying areas for process simplification and improvement to undertake process enhancement projects in relation to accounting and finance services
- Specific Business Knowledge:

- Advanced knowledge of investment products, including both their accounting and investment characteristics
- Sound knowledge of control environments/internal controls in an Investment Accounting operation.
- Sound knowledge of SAP accounting system and Business Intelligence System
