Technician

**1.** **SUMARY OF FUNCTION**

Assisting team leader to performs hands-on MRO Level 4 maintenance tasks include disassembly, cleaning, inspection, troubleshooting, parts requisitioning, repair, assembly, and testing.

**2.** **DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITY**

2.1. **Overall duties/ responsibilities**:
2.1.1. Ensure that all task/ work is done in a safe and professional manner;
2.1.2. Ensure that all maintenance entries on maintenance job card and work orders are properly executed;
2.1.3. Uses and understands component maintenance manuals and other repair specifications;
2.1.4. Executing maintenance tasks include disassembly, cleaning, inspection, troubleshooting, parts requisitioning, repair, assembly, and testing;
2.1.5. Ensure that proper tooling and equipment is utilized, calibrated, and in good working order for the maintenance task being accomplished;
2.1.6. Ensure no defective, non-conformed, or unworthy parts are installed in any component or assembly;
2.1.7. Identifies problems and recommends solutions to Team Leader/ Superior;
2.1.8. Always working together with the other teams/ supervisors for ongoing improvements and better implementation strategies.

2.2. **Disciplines**

2.2.1. Showing up for work on time;
2.2.2. Treat supervisors/ peers respectfully;
2.2.3. Always focus on task and instruction from supervisor/ superior.

2.3. **Maintenance line setup, preparation, and work processes**:
2.3.1. Assisting Team Leader in preparation and executing work processes in maintenance line based on job card and manuals;
2.3.2. Ascertain that the assigned maintenance line has appropriate parts, supplies, and tooling and to report back any inconsistencies or shortage;
2.3.3. To provide continuous feedback and troubleshooting steps to Team Leader to fix the problems/ processes in maintenance line.

2.4. **Depot/ Workplace housekeeping**:
2.4.1. Keep the depot/ maintenance line looking clean and organized;
2.4.2. Adhered to work standards and procedures for depot/ maintenance line;
2.4.3. Perform good housekeeping practices with respect to the parts area and the timely processing of parts disposition.

2.5. **Health And Safety in workplace**:
2.5.1. Attend toolbox briefing without fail;
2.5.2. Promote and maintain a safe work environment in accordance with all company Safety Procedures;
2.5.3 Fixing potential safety hazards to avoid injuries.

2.6. **Others**:
2.6.1. To carry out any other duties/ tasks assigned whenever necessary.

3.1. **External**

3.1.1. KTMB working team;
3.1.2. Appointed vendors**.**

3.2. **Internal**

3.2.1. All M Rail Teams i.e.; Technical Division and other support Division.

**4.** **QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE**

4.1. **Mandatory requirements**

4.1.1. Certificate of any Engineering discipline from any recognized University;
4.1.2. Familiar with railways operational and engineering terms;
4.1.3. Deep technical understanding and capabilities in bogie structural component design.

4.2. **Desirable requirements**

4.2.1. Diploma in Mechanical Engineering - with design/ structural specialization;
4.2.2. Independent, positive thinking and able to work as a team.

**5.** **COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS**

5.1. Familiar with railways depot environment;
5.2. Must have exceptional interpersonal skills to interface effectively with cross functional teams;
5.3. Must have at least basic computer skills and knowledge of common programs such as Microsoft Office;
5.4. Behavioural - Creativity self-motivated, goal-oriented, confident, flexible, adaptable to a fast-working environment, work well with others to meet deadlines.

Pay: RM2,000.00 - RM4,000.00 per month
