Operation Development Specialist

**Operation Development Specialist** is to optimize processes, systems or organization by designing, improving and implementing an integrated system of people, materials, information and handling equipment, eliminating wastefulness in the end-to-end supply chain.

**Key Activities / Accountabilities**:

- Analyse current processes to determine the most efficient sequence of workflow, establishing methods for maximizing the utilization of equipment, floor space/layout and human resources.
- Conducts operations forecasting for staffing, assets and facility needs to ensure service commitment met.
- Develops solutions to operational issues, works with operations management to implement changes to attain desired cost and service improvement.
- Process mapping and implementation for new businesses with pipeline from Sales/Business Solutions as follow;
- Conduct cost analysis of running own operations vs agents model if there are substantial volume.
- Prepare CAPEX for approval - new station/hub facilities or country infrastructure setup
- Identification & securing of locations
- Get procurement to complete the purchase/tenancy agreement
- Facility layout Design
- Appointment of renovation vendors
- Coordination with vendors on facility renovation till completion
- Define requirement of MHE equipment & tools for Procurement to source
- Set-up facility infrastructure - system, IT, User ID, etc (with IT team)
- Set-up linehauls connectivity and cutoff time
- Conduct training for operation stakeholders involved
- Track actual cost versus initial calculated cost of investment - 6 months after implementation.
- Handover to operation management team once live and work with Service Excellence team to monitor service performance for 6 months

**Preferred Qualifications, Experience and Skills**:

- Minimum a Degree holder in operation management, business administrations, industrial engineering, supply chain management related qualifications.
- 5-8 years of working experience in operation optimization and project management, preferably with express courier and warehousing experience in the logistic industry.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools such as Microsoft Excel, SQL, or data visualization tools like Tableau or Power BI can help in analysing and interpreting operational data. This includes the ability to manipulate data, create reports, perform statistical analysis, and present insights effectively.
- Familiarity with process mapping and modelling tools like Microsoft Visio, Lucidchart, or Bizagi can assist in visualizing and documenting operational processes to identify bottlenecks, analyse process flows, and propose improvements.
- Proficiency in project management software, such as Microsoft Project or equivalent tools to set project timelines, assigning tasks, monitoring progress, and collaborating with team members.
- Familiar with various material handling solution and sortation automation technology as enabler to optimize operation processes.
- Understanding and experience with quality management systems, such as ISO standards or Six Sigma methodologies, can be valuable in implementing quality control and process improvement initiatives.
- Strong technical writing skills for documenting processes, creating standard operating procedures (SOPs), and communicating operational changes effectively to stakeholders.
