Position Title: Purchasing Executive Industry: Glass Manufacturing Location: Jasin, Malacca Salary Range: RM4,000 - RM6,000 About the Job We are representing one of the world’s leading glass manufacturers, to look for talented purchasing executive who have great negotiation skills, a keen eye for detail and a strategic mindset to align the procurement decision with the company's overall objectives. Thus, building and maintaining positive relationships with suppliers is essential for ensuring a consistent supply of quality goods and services. The new incomer is expected to be responsible for managing an organization's procurement activities, which involve acquiring goods, services, and raw materials necessary for the operation of the business. Job Responsibilities - Perform sourcing, price negotiation, contract management, project management, and tender management to ensure the timely and efficient procurement of materials and supplies required for the production of glass products. - Handle daily purchasing activities such as processing purchase requisition forms, soliciting quotes, commercial negotiation, open bidding, commercial comparison, preparing purchase approvals, and processing payments for management's review and approval. - Manage purchase orders (PO) and payment processing, ensuring that purchase orders are issued with the correct shipping/delivery term and pricing. - Review purchasing standard operating procedures (SOP) through monthly standard reading and conduct continuous improvement activities. - Issue purchase orders and follow up with manufacturers/suppliers to ensure the best payment terms are granted. - Check order processing and schedules with manufacturers/suppliers, arrange shipment clearance for storage, and troubleshoot any urgent or emergency matters as needed. - Utilize good negotiation skills to develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors. Experience Needed - Diploma or Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, or a related field. - At least 2-3 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management, preferably in the glass manufacturing industry. - Ability to speak and write fluently in Mandarin, Malay, and English. - Able to perform overtime to troubleshoot urgent/emergency matters. - Detail-oriented with excellent communication and negotiation skills. - Strong organizational and multitasking abilities. - Able to complete tasks within the timeline given. - Knowledge of parts and equipment/machinery used in glass manufacturing is an advantage. - Proficient in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Word.
