**Job description**

Position : Safety & Health Officer
Require : Full Time
Salary : RM3,000 - RM4,000
Working hour : Monday-Friday (8am-5pm), Saturday (8am-1pm) & Public Holiday Closed

**Skills and Requirements**:

- Possess bachelor’s degree in occupational safety and health, environmental science, engineering, or a related field. An accredited diploma in occupational safety and health may also be acceptable
- National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) certification
- Registered Safety and Health Officer (SHO) [With Green Book]
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP)
- Three years experience in safety and health roles
- Commitment to ongoing learning and training in occupational safety and health, keeping updated on new regulations and best practices.
- Ability to perform physical inspections and emergency response drills, which may require physical activity.
- Understanding of industry-specific safety standards, such as construction sector.

**Key Responsibilities**:
a) **Safety Compliance & Regulations**:

- Ensure compliance with local, national, and company safety regulations and standards.
- Handle site registration and ensure all required permits are obtained.
- Stay updated with the latest occupational health and safety laws and industry best practices.

b) **Risk Assessment & Hazard Prevention**:

- Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments at the workplace.
- Identify potential hazards and implement effective preventive measures to minimize risks.

c) **Training & Awareness**:

- Conduct safety training sessions and awareness programs for employees and subcontractors.
- Organize and lead the safety committee to discuss safety-related concerns and improvements.

d) **Incident Investigation & Reporting**:

- Investigate workplace accidents, incidents, and near-misses to determine root causes.
- Maintain detailed safety records and provide reports with corrective action plans.

e) **Emergency Preparedness**:

- Develop and implement emergency response plans to handle workplace hazards effectively.
- Conduct fire drills, evacuation procedures, and first-aid training sessions for employees.

f) **PPE & Equipment Safety**:

- Ensure the proper use and availability of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for all workers.
- Monitor and maintain safety equipment to ensure it is in good working condition.

g) **Collaboration & Communication**:

- Attend meetings with clients, top management, employees, and subcontractors to provide safety updates and recommendations.
- Conduct site visits twice a month with the Construction Department to enforce safety measures and ensure compliance.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Contract
Contract length: 24 months

Pay: RM3,000.00 - RM4,000.00 per month
