The M&E Technician cum Fire Safety Officer is responsible for overseeing the maintenance and repair of all mechanical and electrical (M&E) systems within the facility, while also managing fire safety systems and compliance. This includes performing **Planned Preventive Maintenance(PPM)**and **Corrective Maintenance (CM),**ensuring all systems operate safely and efficiently according to Malaysian regulatory standards (e.g. BOMBA and DOSH).

Key Responsibilities:
1. M&E (Mechanical and Electrical) Responsibilities:

- Perform routine PPM and CM on electrical systems, lighting, power points, distribution boards, pumps, water heaters and basic plumbing.
- Conduct inspections and servicing of HVAC systems, including split units, AHUs and ventilation.
- Troubleshoot and repair minor faults in M&E systems to ensure uninterrupted facility operations.
- Support installation, testing and commissioning of new M&E equipment or upgrades.
- Maintain accurate records of M&E work orders, maintenance logs and reports.

2. Fire Safety Responsibilities:

- Perform **PPM** and **CM**for all fire protection systems such as:

- Fire alarm panels and detectors
- Fire extinguishers and hose reels
- Sprinkler systems
- Emergency lighting and exit signs
- Conduct monthly fire safety inspections and report deficiencies.
- Ensure all fire safety systems comply with **BOMBA**requirement and are ready for inspection.
- Assist in coordinating and conducting **fire drills**and training for staff on emergency procedures.
- Maintain fire safety records, inspection logs and documentation in line with regulatory compliance.

3. **Safety & Compliance**:

- Ensure all maintenance work complies with Malaysian standards and regulation (e.g., BOMBA, DOSH).
- Report any safety risks, hazards, or non-compliance issues to the management.
- Liaise with external vendors, contractors and regulatory bodies during audits, inspections or certifications.

**REQUIREMENTS**:

- Certificate or Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical or Building Services Engineering.
- At least 2-3 years of relevant experience in M&E maintenance and fire safety.
- Knowledge of Malaysian fire safety codes and BOMBA compliance.
- Good understanding of building systems and safety procedures.
- Able to perform hands-on technical works and respond to emergencies.
- Physically fit and willing to work overtime or on-call when required.
- Advantage: Certified Fire Safety Officer (FSO) by BOMBA or related authority.
