**JOB OVERVIEW**:

- Provide leadership and strategy for ocean freight operations team to promote growth within the company, through realizing current and future business opportunities.
- Work closely with the executive team to identify new market opportunities, build and maintain relationships with key customers, and develop customized solutions to meet their specific logistics requirements.
- Manage ocean freight operations to ensure smooth daily operations

**JOB RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Lead and oversee all day-to-day operations within the department to ensure that the services being provided are organized and in accordance with local legislation
- Liaise with Customs, Port Authorities and Shipping Lines as and where necessary to ensure that all rules and regulations are being followed properly. Develop and implement a strategic business development plan to expand the company's ocean freight business.
- Identify and target potential clients in key industries, including but not limited to manufacturing, retail, and consumer goods.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective customers, understanding their needs and providing tailored logistics solutions.
- Collaborate with internal teams to develop competitive pricing strategies and proposals that align with customer requirements and market trends.
- Lead negotiations and contract discussions locally with carriers, ensuring mutually beneficial agreements are reached.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, market conditions, and competitors' activities to identify business opportunities and potential risks.
- Provide regular reports and analysis on sales performance, market trends, and customer feedback to the executive team.
- Foster and maintain strategic partnerships with key stakeholders, such as shipping lines, freight forwarders, and industry associations.

**JOB REQUIREMENTS**:

- Degree holder in Business Administration/Logistics/Purchasing Management
- Proven track record of at least 5 years in freight forwarding industry or carrier
- In-depth knowledge of ocean freight operations, industry trends, and regulatory requirements.
- Strong network of contacts in the shipping and logistics industry, including customers and industry partners.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
- Ability to lead and inspire a team, driving results and fostering a collaborative work environment. Strategic mindset with the ability to identify and pursue new business opportunities.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data driven decisions.
- Willingness to travel as needed to meet clients and attend industry events.
- Proficient in computer operations (MS Word, Excel and PPT)
- Knowledge in Magaya rate system will be a plus
- A team player, able to multitask and get support from other colleagues
- Good in analytics and data gathering, summarizing or data into reports
- Proven sales & negotiation skills and good ability to influence
- Superior customer relationship management skills
- Proven implementation and continuous improvement results with operations
- Good PC skills in MS Word, MS PowerPoint and MS Excel
- Knowledge of systems linkage between ERP systems by methods of API or Manual

**Salary**: Up to RM16,000.00 per month
