PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Develop policy and procedures for student good order and wellbeing to ensure the highest standard of support for students and to ensure their changing needs are met.
- Responsible for the educational, social and cultural functions of the residents, for student welfare, and for good order and discipline of registered students in the campus.
- Ensure the needs of the students are attended. Manage the special requirements of students, paying attention to students with a disability/medical condition to ensure the health and medical needs are attended timely to avoid complications.
- Ensure delivery of professional advisory role to the Management in relation to the areas of student welfare and wellbeing, including keeping abreast of all relevant legislation and best practice. To ensure all staff have a working knowledge of legislation and regulations pertaining to students including health and welfare, drug misuse, equality, and disability. Advice on specific crisis situations, including how best to manage risk to the student(s) concerned and the wider campus.
- Oversee any student welfare cases, such as student death, illness or any other serious incident affecting individual students or a group on timely basis and best way possible.
- Review all serious incidents and make recommendations on lessons to be learned.
- Support staff across the campus who are dealing with students with particularly complex cases, and where appropriate to provide advice and guidance directly to these students.
- Work in other departments to develop policies and strategies to create a more holistic and enhanced student experience supported by excellent customer service.
- Plan and manage students going out and coming into the campus in compliance with Company’s policy and procedures. Ensure safety and security of the students in the campus.
- Coordinate the distribution of students’ related items such as uniforms, shirts, shoes, relevant attires and learning materials where applicable.
- Work closely with the Management team, internal and external stakeholders including authorities to ensure students’ welfare, care, safety and security are attended in the best manner.
EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum of 8-10 years of relevant working experience including at least 5 years’ experience in security services/industry, experience in education industry is an added advantage.
- 5-7 years specific experience in regimentation, patrolling, campus warden and students management; or
- Service experience i.e. Armed Forces minimum rank Lieutenant or RMP Inspector or above.
QUALIFICATION:
- Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Law, Security/System Management or equivalent.
- Masters’ Degree in Forensic Science, Criminology, Economic Crime Management or MBA is an added advantage.
