Why does this job exist and why is it critical?

The Account Manager - Eastern Postpaid is responsible for managing and growing a portfolio of high-value postpaid accounts within the Eastern region, ensuring customer satisfaction and achieving sales targets for Maxis Mobile.

What are you accountable for?- Develop and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with assigned key postpaid customers in the Eastern region.- Identify and pursue new business opportunities within existing accounts to increase revenue and market share.- Proactively assess, clarify, and validate customer needs on an ongoing basis and translate them into suitable Maxis Mobile solutions.- Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., technical support, marketing, product development) to ensure timely and successful delivery of Maxis Mobile solutions according to customer needs and objectives.- Prepare and deliver compelling sales presentations, proposals, and contracts to customers.- Negotiate and close sales agreements, ensuring profitability and adherence to company policies.- Monitor and analyze sales performance, market trends, and competitor activities to identify areas for improvement and growth.- Provide regular reports on account status, sales forecasts, and market intelligence to management.- Resolve customer complaints and issues efficiently and effectively to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.- Stay up to date with Maxis Mobile's product and service offerings, as well as industry developments.

What do you need to have for the role?- Bachelor's degree in business administration, Marketing, or a related field.- Minimum of 3-5 years of proven account management or sales experience in the telecommunications industry, preferably within postpaid mobile services.- Strong understanding of the Eastern Malaysian market and customer base.- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships.- Results-oriented with a strong track record of achieving sales targets.- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel frequently within the Eastern region.- Fluent in Bahasa Malaysia and English; proficiency in local dialects would be an added advantage.

Skills / Knowledge:

- Proficient in Microsoft, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.- Good written, oral and interpersonal skills.- Good research, analytical, planning and organizational skills.- To have an acute sense of business savvy and able to motivate, manage & develop strong partners (business dealers).- Result oriented with the drive to exceed sales target.- Good interpersonal & presentation skills with strong client orientation.- Ability to perform under pressure in a challenging environment and work independently with minimum supervision.- Personal traits: Positive, Passionate, Collaborative, a candid team player who collaborates with peers to solve problems.
