**ASSISTANT MANAGER**

**PROJECT MONITORING SECTION, INFRASTRUCTURE DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT, INFRASTRUCTURE & ASSET MANAGEMENT DIVISION (IAMD), CHANCELLERY**

**KEY ROLES**:

- Lead and coordinate project monitoring activities, ensuring timely delivery of all projects within budget and in compliance with established quality standards.

**Project Oversight & Coordination**
- Manage and oversee multiple projects simultaneously, monitoring progress against approved plans, budgets, and timelines.
- Coordinate with internal teams, contractors, consultants, and stakeholders to ensure smooth execution.

**Strategic Planning & Scheduling**
- Develop and maintain comprehensive master project schedules, identifying key milestones and critical paths.
- Anticipate potential risks and recommend effective mitigation strategies to avoid delays or cost overruns.

**Budget & Cost Management**
- Monitor and control project expenditures to ensure alignment with approved budgets.
- Review and verify contractors’ progress claims and variation orders prior to management approval.

**Quality & Compliance Monitoring**
- Ensure that all works comply with specifications, standards, and statutory requirements.
- Conduct regular site inspections and coordinate corrective actions for non-compliance issues.

**Reporting & Documentation**
- Prepare and present periodic progress reports to senior management, highlighting key achievements, risks, and issues.
- Maintain accurate records of correspondence, contracts, permits, and other project documentation.

**Team Leadership & Development**
- Supervise, mentor, and guide executives and support staff in project monitoring activities.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional development within the team.

**REQUIREMENTS**:

- Master / Bachelor’s Degree in Project Management, Civil & Structural, Mechanical & Electrical, Architecture, or other relevant fields.
- Proficiency in project management software and tools will be an added advantage.
- Minimum of 5-8 years of relevant experience in project monitoring and reporting.
- Proven experience in project management and project administration.
- Experience working in a Government-Linked Company is an added advantage.
- Strong analytical and communication skills, with technical knowledge in report preparation, project management, coordination, interpersonal relations, and negotiation.
- Preferably with experience in Project and Contract Management, and knowledgeable in project planning, sourcing, estimating, construction and renovation, mechanical and electrical works, interior works, as well as civil and structural works.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Bahasa Malaysia.
- Reliable, meticulous, and committed.
- Strong interpersonal and time management skills.
- Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Working knowledge of business and data intelligence software.
