**Job Description: Purchasing Internship**

**Position**: Purchasing Intern
**Location**: Al Mathaam Syed Sdn Bhd
**Duration**: 3-6 months
**Reports To**: General Manager

**Job Summary**:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Purchasing Intern to join our team. This internship is designed to provide hands-on experience in purchasing, inventory management, and vendor relations within the restaurant industry. The intern will assist in sourcing high-quality ingredients and supplies, managing inventory, and maintaining relationships with vendors to support restaurant operations. Additionally, the intern may assist in procuring materials for our signature biryani paste product.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Assist in sourcing and purchasing ingredients, equipment, and supplies for the restaurant.
- Support inventory management, including tracking stock levels and conducting regular audits.
- Research and evaluate potential suppliers to ensure quality, pricing, and reliability.
- Assist in negotiating contracts and pricing agreements with vendors.
- Maintain accurate purchasing records and documentation.
- Monitor and track deliveries to ensure timely arrival of supplies.
- Collaborate with the kitchen and sales teams to understand purchasing requirements.
- Assist in procuring materials for the production and packaging of Mathaam Restaurant’s signature biryani paste.
- Ensure compliance with food safety standards and quality control measures.
- Generate reports on purchasing activities and provide updates to management.

**Qualifications**:

- Currently pursuing a degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Hospitality, or a related field.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Passion for the restaurant and hospitality industry.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexible schedule, including availability for evenings and weekends, if required.
