Job summary
The AWS ASEAN startup team works directly with startups, venture capitalists (VC), Accelerators and Incubators (A&I), and other startup organizations globally. You will spend your days interfacing with global startup organization leadership teams, and navigating cross-AWS and Amazon to enable startups to realize outsized success. The team’s comprised of a rare group of high-caliber founders, investors and startup operators with deep ecosystem network, working within Amazon to drive AWS strategy and support the next generation of startup entrepreneurs.

We’re hiring for roles across Southeast Asia, and are seeking team members who have founded companies, and who get excited about working with, mentoring and driving the success of startup founders day-in and day-out.
Key job responsibilities
- Serve as key member of the Startup Business Development team to drive overall AWS market and technical strategy.
- Work closely with startups, VC/A&I, startup organizations and portfolio companies to ensure they are successful using the AWS platform, by providing technical resources and business mentorship.
- Execute strategic initiatives for AWS, while working with key internal stakeholders (e.g. sales teams, partners, marketing, support, etc.).
- Build new programs to support startups, on behalf of AWS and Amazon, including events/sessions involving deep engagements with CxOs, and startup decision makers of top startups, as well as scalable, programmatic programs for startups generally. Create and articulate compelling value propositions around AWS services and AWS partnership opportunities.
- Prepare and deliver data-driven reviews to the senior management about progress, achievements, and roadblocks in the startup business.
- Serve as the primary eyes and ears for AWS and Amazon to the startup community. Become a fixture of the startup community; you are the face of AWS in your market and an advocate for customers inside of the company.
- Handle high volume of engagements and fast pace of the cloud computing market.
- Travel required within ASEAN countries.
- MBA ideally with a focus in finance, or equivalent executive level experience.
- Significant experience in designing and executing scalable programs.
- Relevant technical knowledge, such as: fundamentals of cloud computing and virtualization, storage systems, database systems, core distributed computing concepts, content delivery networks (CDNs), artificial intelligence / machine learning, etc. with ability to go deep enough on technical aspects to differentiate between varied AWS services.
- Business fluency in a second Asian language such as Bahasa is a plus.
- Strong presentation skills and the ability to articulate complex concepts to cross functional audiences.
- Passion for technology and the startup ecosystem.
