Main Purpose of the Job: This position is responsible for educating, caring for, and inspiring young minds. Using a variety of teaching methods, including artistic expression, educational play, and storytelling, to build and develop children’s interest, knowledge and skills in preparing them for their growth and development. Desired Qualifications: Minimum: Diploma in Early Childhood Education, Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education, Kursus Asuhan Dan Didikan Awal Kanak-Kanak Permata (Kursus Asuhan Permata) Desired Experience: Minimum 1 year as a teacher practitioner. Language(s) Required: English & Bahasa Malaysia (Fluent), Mandarin Core Knowledge Required: - Sound understanding of ECCE (Early Childhood Care and Education) and Early Childhood Learning Developmental Standards (ELDS) - Sound knowledge of child development, child learning methodologies and implementation and a good understanding of the specific needs of young children Social and Emotional Well-being (10%) Under the supervision and guidance of HOS: - Provide pastoral care for children: - Personal Grooming such as dressing up, personal hygiene including toileting and hand-washing. - Good manners and etiquette in school. Develop good social skills such as observing good table manners (using the ‘magic’ words, serving their friends, clearing the table after a meal) and good eating habits. - Establish and enforce rules of behaviour for children in the classroom. - Observe, evaluate and support children’s behaviour, social and emotional development and physical health. - Identify children showing signs of emotional, development or health-related problems, and discuss them with the Coordinator/ Head of School, parents or guardians. Teaching and Learning (50%) - Under the supervision and guidance of HOS: - Plan, execute and review weekly lesson plans - Organize and design play and creative activities to promote all learning areas and 21st-century learning skills, i.e. Communication, Literature and Literacy; Personal, Social, Health and Emotional. Development; Physical Development; Mathematical Development; Knowledge and Understanding of the World; and Creative Development. - Create and conduct creative activities for balanced instruction, demonstration and work time that provide children with opportunities to observe, question and investigate. - Plan and supervise class projects, field trips, visits by guests or other experiential activities, and guide children in learning from those activities. - Select or establish clear learning outcomes from the attainment targets for all lessons, and projects and communicate those learning outcomes to children. - Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet children’s varying needs and interests. - Demonstrate activities to children. - Collaborate with other teachers, coordinator and Head of School in the development, evaluation and revision of the school curriculum. - Prepare and implement remedial programs for children requiring further support. Communication (15%) Under the supervision and guidance of HOS: - Regular curriculum discussion with HOS - Communicate with other team members as well as with parents about children’s progress and behaviour. - Listen carefully to parents’ requests and concerns and address them as quickly as possible. - Maintain accurate and complete children's records as required by laws, policies and administrative regulations. - Prepare reports on children and activities as required by administration, i.e. Parent-Teacher Meetings. - Supervise, evaluate and plan tasks for teacher assistants. Managing the Learning Environment (15%) Under the supervision and guidance of HOS: - Create a welcoming and inspiring atmosphere in the classroom. - Ensure the classroom equipment, materials and supplies are sanitized weekly and kept in a clean and safe condition at all times. - Prepare materials and classrooms for class activities. - Select and return unused classroom equipment, materials and supplies to the administrator. - Organize and label materials appropriately in the classroom. - Display children’s work periodically in an appropriate manner for their developmental needs. - Execute risk assessment before planning the indoor and outdoor space. - Planning effectively all indoor and outdoor spaces to facilitate creative play, motor-skill activities and safety. Administration (10%) Under the supervision and guidance of HOS: - Implement all administrative policies and rules for effective classroom management - Attend coordination and staff meetings, and serve on committees as required. - Attend professional meetings, educational conferences, and teacher training workshops for professional development. - Perform administrative duties, i.e. arrival and dismissal, enrichment class, common meal time, decorating the common areas and promoting the school. - Assimilate arriving children to the school environment by greeting them, helping them remove shoes where appl
