Team Summary**

Visa Consulting and Analytics (VCA) is Visa's consulting division, serving Visa's clients (including card issuers, acquirers and merchants) and solving their strategic problems focused on improving performance and profitability. Drawing on our expertise in strategy consulting, payments, data analytics, marketing, operational and macroeconomics, VCA drives high impact and tangible financial results.

The individual will be part of VCA Data Science geographic team cluster of Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand (SMT) markets, and will be responsible for leading data science engagements with Visa's clients in Malaysia. The team is involved in a comprehensive range of consulting services and solutions to our clients, that address unique challenges in areas such as strategic growth, profitability, risk management, digital strategy and portfolio management.
**What a Data Science Director, Visa Consulting & Analytics does at Visa**:
The Data Science Director will be a member of VCA Data Science team in Asia Pacific and will report to the Head of Data Science overseeing the SMT cluster. The position will be based in Visa’s Kuala Lumpur office.

The incumbent will be responsible for developing scorecards, machine learning and deep learning models, business analytics as well as to engage Visa’s clients in order to solve business problems. Here, you will be required to work with large data sets using quantitative techniques and build complex statistical models that learn from big data. Data sets will include alternate data sourced from non-traditional data vendors and data from diverse systems maintained by card issuing clients.

Working and collaborating with other team members in VCA and Visa Asia Pacific, the Director will draw on their deep domain knowledge and expertise to provide recommendations to clients, work that will enable enduring, strategic relationships with our clients.

Key responsibilities include:

- Direct and execute multiple medium to large analytic projects along with rest of the stakeholders in the VCA team
- Identify, ideate and develop analytical solutions, engage clients, develop strategies, testing as well as monitoring frameworks
- Engage and work with external clients from marketing, risk and products to drive data-driven decision-making
- Actively seek out opportunities to innovate by using non-traditional data and new modeling techniques
- Collaborate with the internal teams to fully understand business requirements and desired business outcomes
- Define detailed analytic scope and methodology, as well as create a plan and execute on it
- Provide thought leadership by using data to solve business problems and arrive at innovative statistical solutions
- Ensure all project documentation is up to date and maintain the highest levels of quality in deliverables
- Ensure project delivery within timelines and budget requirements
- Contribute to the development of the team’s analytical skills and business knowledge
- Work as an independent contributor and/or as a team lead when required
- Enhance existing analytic techniques by promoting new methodology and best practices in analytics field
