Description

**Primary Objective**:
To manage Operational Risk for RHB Islamic Bank and Shariah Non-Compliance Risk for RHB Banking Group by leveraging on Group Risk Framework and Policies. The ultimate goal is to ensure Shariah risk is effectively managed within the RHB Banking Group.
**Key Responsibilities**:
**Shariah Non-Compliance (SNC) Risk Management**;
- Supervise incident management functions to ensure all incidents are accurately validated and mitigation action plans address any weakness in internal control process to mitigate recurrence of similar incident.
- Manage process and manual reviews relating to Islamic products and services by ensuring SNC risks are identified and adequate internal controls are clearly documented and addressed for all Shariah related businesses as part of Shariah risk management function
- Enforce and implement SNC risk policies and guidelines for RHB Group (RHB Bank, RHB Islamic Bank & RHB Investment Bank) to ensure that the functions and processes performed are in tandem with the regulatory requirements
- Perform management reporting to RHB Islamic Bank (RHBIB) Management committee and RHB Bank Management committee (where applicable) to ensure reports are not only timely but also accurately presented.
- Coordinate annual MRA exercise for RHB Group focusing on Shariah Non-Compliance Risk (SNCR) and ensuring SNCR is accurately identified and mitigated.
- Work closely with Group Risk Operational Risk Management (GORM) on common requirements and initiatives to facilitate smooth and effective support in Group Risk Management
- Support and assist Head, Shariah Risk Management and Head, Group Shariah Risk Management in engaging and working closely with RHB Academy, training providers and Business/ Functional units within the Group, for promoting effective Shariah Risk management culture and awareness across RHB Group.
